Holiday Inn Express Salt Lake City Downtown by IHG

nice place with a very good location - right in the downtown.

This is a new hotel in downtown SLC with an excellent location. The room are big and bright with comfortable beds. It offers free hot breakfast, but charges for overnight parking. It provides many amenities including a spa and a pool. The staff is friendly and services are acceptable. And the room rate is reasonable. I have no reservation to recommend this hotel to my friends.

Spacious room, clean, front desk staff were super friendly. Very nice breakfast, I would definitely like to come again.

There a lot of additional fees once you check in the hotel. Other travelers experienced inconveniences with this hotel when booking through third party. I assume their system isn’t talking well with other third party sites. We were told they didn’t have the room we booked so they gave us another room. The location is great and you save 60% more by booking through third party applications but if you were to extend your nights there or use their parking then you’ll have to pay additional inconvenience charges.

The booking confirmation didn't mention any parking fee, but I was charged $25. The child next door was crying nonstop, making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. The fitness room across the hall had people using it as early as 5 a.m., and the noise kept me awake all night. The front desk staff wore a stern expression the entire time without a trace of a smile. Breakfast was terrible. I didn’t experience the service standards of a 5-star hotel at all. I will never choose this hotel again.

Room and facilities are fair. Breakfast choice is limited.

Clean, fair price, breakfast included
