"Booked this as a late deal through TUI. We had a deluxe suite which included a giant balcony and jacuzzi in the room. It seems that the English are the minority in this hotel and more Dutch/German/Turkish people staying there. We had a few problems trying to speak to the reception staff as they struggled to understand us. The room was lovely and the cleaners do a fantastic job. They spend most of the day cleaning, there is one lady that spends her entire day cleaning the floors and glass by the pool and she does a great job. The pool area is small for the amount of rooms in the hotel. You are not allowed out to the sun-beds before 10.30am and people queue up to get them. However, the reception staff were very good at removing towels which had been left to reserve sun-beds so that was very good. Other people seemed to get annoyed that our children were in the pool (they were not misbehaving, just swimming) it’s like the pool was not suitable for children. There is a smaller pool ideal for children but it’s in the shade so the water is very cold. The all inclusive options for drinks was very basic with only wine, soft drinks, breakfast drinks and alcoholic cocktails included. Everything else was pay extra. I don’t know why but the plastic cups from the bar area were almost always dirty, every day our cups had old lipstick on. The food was nice, but very boring, pizza, chips and burgers. Typical of what you’d expect for an all inclusive hotel. We wanted some authentic Greek food which on ‘Greek night’ we did have but only for one night. There is a sign to say no swimwear or bare feet in the restaurant area but not everybody pays attention to this. The area of Karlovasi is very derelict which is a shame. I have never been to a place with some many derelict buildings. There are about 5 bars in the port area, two souvenirs shops and one AB supermarket about 500m down the road. There is not much to do outside of the hotel, we wanted to do a boat trip but could not find any leaving from Karlovasi. We did walk to Potami beach 1.2 miles away which was lovely. There is also a hotel beach over the road which you can use the sun-beds free of charge. The beach is very stony and I would recommend proper beach shoes. Shame that there is only live music on some nights as this was very good. No proper entertainment for children. Overall the hotel is nice but I would not return again, mostly due to the area being so sparse."

"The hotel is run by a family that does everything to make you feel welcome. There is always someone present, and they are ready to answer questions or assist with anything else. Whenever we had something planned, we were asked afterwards how we experienced it, and we were always welcome to ask for advice; the staff is therefore very involved. The rooms are cleaned neatly every day, and you receive a fresh set of towels. The breakfast is simple, but all products are super fresh and tasty! Air conditioning and a mini-fridge are available in the room. We had a room with a sea view, which was truly beautiful. However, your balcony does face south. The swimming pool is also clean and equipped with all amenities, such as toilets and changing rooms. Everything is small-scale, which makes it very cozy. There is ample parking space right outside the door. The hotel is located in Ireon; if you rent a car, this is the perfect location because you are not in the middle of the hustle and bustle. The village is charming, and there are various restaurants and bars. Additionally, you are not far from all the sights due to its central location on the island. Tip: If you happen to stay here, be sure to visit restaurant Akrokioli just a few meters away!"

"We chose a quieter island with TUI as needed a week of no thinking and rest. This all inclusive hotel was perfect. Exceptional staff; especially Katrina for whom nothing was too much trouble (& Marina on the bar; so patient!) Lengthy airport transfer (approx 90 mins) but got to see the island! An earthquake 3 years ago has devastated many of the older buildings and churches but as we weren’t after clubs and tourist shops anyway it’s fine. Samos and its locals are wonderful and we plan to come back and maybe be more active next time to check out the walks (the island day tour was excellent and also visit Metaxa; our cab driver was brilliant; almost a 1:1 tour)"

"We stayed at Erato for 10 days and got home on Sunday. Myself, Zoe and our 18 month old daughter (the famous little Lottie) absolutely LOVED our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone. The staff were incredible, giving us such a beautiful experience throughout our stay and were so attentive to our needs with our daughter. The cleaners are a huge part of this hotel and it was spotless throughout and took great pride in this. The food was so tasty, and a great selection of Greek cuisines and more! We would absolutely return to this hotel. "We spent a wonderful two weeks at the Anthemis Hotel. We booked an apartment with a living room and kitchen (fridge, induction hob, kettle, and coffee maker), a separate bedroom, and a beautiful terrace overlooking Vathy and the surrounding bay. The apartment is spacious, with basic cooking equipment in the kitchen. The bedroom boasts a spacious wardrobe and a king-size bed (very comfortable). The living room had a dining table, sofa, coffee table, and TV. The living room and bedroom share a terrace (with two exits to the balcony, each with new mosquito nets). The staff cleaned daily and changed towels every three days. Beach towels could also be rented from reception for a deposit. It's also worth mentioning the lovely reception staff, who were always happy to advise, assist, and answer any questions. We also paid for breakfast. We were able to eat our fill every day. The staff prepared jams from the fruit grown on site, fresh rolls, and homemade cakes or muffins. Other than that, the breakfast standards were scrambled, fried, or hard-boiled eggs, cheese, cold cuts, vegetables, fruit, cereal, yogurt, and nuts. No one left hungry after breakfast. We didn't use the pool, but it was there. It was thoroughly cleaned every morning. There were free sunbeds around it and an additional paid bar (we didn't use it either, but you could order snacks and drinks there). The hotel's drawback (or not) is that it's located on a slope, so access to the rooms involves climbing many stairs. It's a bargain. The views are spectacular in exchange for the walking. Therefore, it's recommended for adults in good physical condition. The hotel itself is very clean and well-maintained. The reception area has an 80s feel and needs updating, but it's the only area that hasn't been renovated yet. There's a small parking lot in front of the hotel that can accommodate about 7-10 cars. A parking card is required for a €5 deposit, which is refundable upon return. The town of Vathy is about a 10-15-minute walk away. The town itself is full of restaurants, cafes, and shops. Markets are located in the more remote part of town. The wine museum and the beach with a bar are also within walking distance. The hotel is located near Gagkou Beach – a pebbly beach with plenty of sunbeds (we were there in mid-May; the beach became more active and the sunbeds were set up only at the end of the month). During our stay, the beach was quite peaceful, although there were quite a few families and groups of immigrants (from the daily ferries) who disturbed the peace and quiet. The hotel itself is an oasis of peace and quiet, something we sorely miss in our daily lives. Here, we truly felt like we had a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and the huge hotel complexes. We hope to return for another wonderful vacation!"
