Fairmount Hotel

San Antonio City Center
While just a bit on the pricier side, this is an outstanding hotel. First, there is the great history, and they've fully remodeled/updated the place while maintaining the historical look and feel. Location is also excellent; it is easily walkable to all things downtown San Antonio. Staff was great and accommodating. Our only small 'complaint' was that the website is a bit out of date (e.g., check-out time is 11 rather than the web-site listed time of noon). Also, the reservation we made on-line was never acknowledged via email so we were unsure about it. Even an email request for a confirmation yielded no response. But our reservation was good and, again, all other things were great!
JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa

Not impressed for the price. Had a mess up on a promo being applied at checkin. It was the first thing I asked them to check. They said we can ONLY check you in. Not change anything on the reservation. You’ll have to ask someone else. They checked me in and I asked again, well then WHO can I call or speak to, to which they relied well no one now because we’ve checked you in nothing can now be done?!?! So I complained that they didn’t tell me who could help me and then essentially BLOCKED anyone else from helping me when I called the 1800 Marriott number. To which I was told a case was created and someone would reach out within 5 days. It’s been 3 weeks so that’s their customer service for you. Dinner that night was very basic and not tasty at all. No one enjoyed their meal and it was expensive so we didn’t eat another meal there the rest of our trip. Some teachers we spoke to on a conference there said the same. The food wasn’t good. The pool lounge chairs are all gross and stained looking. The afternoon we arrived the lazy River was full of empty flogs filling it because no one tidies it up apparently. There were also plastic cups and beer cans littering the edges of it all the way around. My kids enjoyed the water slides the next day. But not all of them were even operating. So since that’s the feature we chose this place for and we’re paying over the top amounts for as entertainment we underwhelming as well. I won’t be recommending or returning.
The Westin Riverwalk, San Antonio

My wife and I just visited San Antonio for the first time with our one year old. We have traveled a lot over the years but traveling with a little one has been very difficult. Having excellent customer service in the restaurant of the Westin has made our life so much easier. Madi has provided one of the best experiences we’ve ever had at any hotel/restaurant. We plan on returning in the coming years and we hope that Madi is still here providing the excellent customer service we have experienced for the last week of our stay. I’ve also included a photo of how happy our son as been to interact with her!

Ohhhhhhh. I wasn’t sure about our room at first. Next to the health/workout room, I was worried it could be noisy. No, it was not, as assured by staff ( added benefit of water from the purifier). The staff are fabulous here. The rooms clean, large enough and pretty. The housekeeping staff are available, but not invasive, the bar staff are generous with pours and kind..The hotels areas such as the library, the outdoor fire area on he theirs and river balcony are great. I would definitely return. Loved it and we stayed for 4 nights.
Hotel Contessa - Suites on the Riverwalk

The comparison of the decisions made by multiple stores is very worthwhile! The rooms are large and clean, and the price is high. There is a restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel, and you can walk directly to the river walk out of the hotel. The downside is that wifi is too slow
Omni la Mansion del Rio

This hotel is gorgeous and in the most amazing location! The views are incredible. But I think the staff is what made my experience so delightful. From the front desk receptionists, to those helping with baggage, to the bartenders, to the security guards and management…every single person I came across was eager to assist in any way they could. At one point during my stay I had a minor medical emergency, and I had staff in my room keeping me calm until EMS arrived, and they stayed with me until they knew I was okay. I was so touched by their willingness to care for me, a complete stranger. This staff goes above and beyond and I would encourage anyone visiting San Antonio to consider staying here. You will not regret it!
