The worst thing was no water pressure. Really was looking forward to my hot shower. Very expensive breakfast rates. Was a perfect location.

Cleanliness: Very clean hotel, all facilities are also very clean
Facilities: quite complete.
Environment: Quite convenient, only a few minutes away from the famous little Italy market, only two blocks away, and only two blocks away from Karl Strauss beer brewing restaurant.
Service: The staff at the front desk were very nice. They didn’t give any tips when checking in. The waiters who disturbed the cleaning every day kept the place clean. I left a $2 tip on the table that morning for the cleaning staff.
Breakfast is in the restaurant on the first floor. It is not a buffet, but a la carte. The service is very good. There is a master chef in the kitchen and the sandwiches are very delicious!
It is a very cost-effective hotel!

The hotel is relatively old, the room facilities are outdated, and the health condition is okay. The highway is right next to it and it's very noisy. Breakfast is not optional. Overall it's not worth the price.

The location of this property was PERFECT! Tons of delicious food & fun things to do within walking distance. Hotel service was great, provided water & fresh baked cookies upon check in. Will recommend!

PROS: They have free EV charging in their parking garage
CONS: The tub drain was clogged so water accumulated during usage. This was a big turn off when using the facilities.

I recently stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton San Diego Downtown, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The check-in process was needlessly stressful due to a communication issue with the staff. Despite having booked a room for four people, the receptionist insisted it was only for two. When I tried to show my booking confirmation, she refused to look at it, causing unnecessary tension.
The breakfast experience was equally disappointing. The waiter insisted that we could only order the American breakfast because the chef was too busy, promising a 30-minute wait for any other options. Strangely, our friends, who ordered differently, received their meals within five minutes. The waiter failed to communicate that even within the American breakfast, there were choices for eggs and other components.
Adding to the frustration, the waiter explicitly mentioned the expectation of tips without providing a service that warranted it.
Overall, the check-in process and breakfast experience significantly detracted from the enjoyment of our stay. I hope the management addresses these issues to ensure a more pleasant stay for future guests.

This was our 2nd stay for this year's vacation. We spent 3 nights on the front end & 2 on the back end of our trip.
Shout out to the staff of the DoubleTree by Hilton San Diego Downtown, they are so warm & welcoming. Kudos to Lillian, Michael, Memo & Ron, just keep doing what you do so well.
