Great value for a budget traveler. Older motel-style property, but well-maintained with modernized furnishings and bathrooms. Comfortable beds that compare with my more common Marriott stays. I found my room lighting to be a bit disappointing (too dim), no breakfast option, but there are several nearby diners and a Vons supermarket are within 5 mins walking distance. The location is not central to much unless there’s a sports event at the arena, but it’s easy to get places by Uber or a pretty decent mass transit network (if you have the time…. As it could double or triple your travel time) The MTS route 8 bus stops right out front. We went all the way to Torrey Pines Beach for $2.50 each way (bus 8 to Old Town, blue trolley toward UTC, then the 101 to Torrey Pines State Park for a hike with great views!). And, in only about 60-70 mins, and we’re able to fit in a trip to LaJolla cove on the way back.I

PROS • Located near the beach CONS • Staff poorly training about customer service; antagonistic and distrusting attitude toward guests. • When alerted about the hotel’s numerous issues, the management company never took accountability; they were simply focused on profit and ignored repeated calls regarding any resolution. • Not a hotel: it is a hostel; staff is only at the front desk from 8:00 am to about 9:00 pm. If you need more towels, sheets, pillows, or if the toilet backs up and starts spilling sewage all over the floor, there is no one to help you. • Rooms are dark and gloomy because they are painted in dark colors and lack large windows, evoking the feeling of living inside a garage or basement. • Furnishings are spartan and uncomfortable. • There is no closet or set of drawers to accommodate the clothes of two people. You must live out of your suitcases. • Essentially, no parking (4 parking spots with an expensive per night fee.) It is extremely challenging to find parking near the hotel. Plan to spend 45 minutes to an hour looking for parking each night. • The websites describes amenities that simply do not exist: no complimentary water, no microwave, no clock, no hair dryer — nothing that makes a guest feel welcomed and special. • The hotel does not have an ice machine or food vending machine. • AC/heating system is loud, ineffective, and difficult to use. Bring a fan. • The TV and remote are very difficult to operate; limited access to channels. • The walls are thin and poorly insulated for sound: you will hear everything going on in adjacent rooms. • The protruding corners of the wooden-framed beds are razor sharp and can produce deep, painful gashes to your legs. The staff is not trained to handle medical emergencies. They even lack an adequate first-aid kit. • The hotel is located adjacent to a popular public gathering space; it attracts an enormous amount of traffic: you will hear cars coming and going, people talking and laughing, radios, and street musicians that play on a loud speaker late into the evening. • There is no elevator. The stairs leading to the second story had a loose board that posed serious danger to its guests. • The bathroom has very low water pressure. • The bathroom door (a barn gate) does not allow any privacy. You can see and hear the occupant. • Bathroom floor tiles are very slippery when wet; the shower curtain is too short and allows lots of water to stream over the tile, that places guests at risk for a dangerous fall. • Hot water is not always available due to hotel’s insufficient hot water tank capacity. • The bed linens are very poor quality — thin and very rough and can cause a rash on sensitive skin. • Over several days, the room was never cleaned There is simply no housekeeping service during your stay. • Unless you are in one of two or three rooms that actually face the ocean, the vast majority of the rooms do not have an ocean view. Our accommodations were excellent! Only 1 block from the Ocean. We would go to the beach & then use the beautiful pool in the afternoons. We had a suite that was quiet with a refrigerator & microwave. The staff was helpful & attentive. They have 3 hotels available & it’s the only place we stay in the San Diego area! Was simple, easily used. Nice staff, checked in with no issues. Loud but good deals for accommodation. More adhere to yourself, insides okay, affirmed new concensus ssl. Would not return, no way to find freeway or even basic places. Was not what inial oug.

The most satisfying hotel on this trip, it has complete facilities, the breakfast patties are juicy and tender, and the environment is clean and tidy. My son likes to play in the swimming pool the most. But unfortunately, the renewal happened during the President's Day holiday, so I couldn't book it and had to change hotels. I will order from this store next time. The price is not high. I found a local gas station with the lowest gas price. No. 87 gas is only $3.99. Others cost at least $4.8-5.2. I came here on my way back to Los Angeles and added $30. It's right next to McDonald's on the main street.

I had not such a real relaxing time.I had been put in a hall way where the noise of anything in this area that was or happen the go through was very loud and noises from all around me were heard, upstairs the people possibly on back of room people from side of me and even laundry.I had been woken up with real loud steeping and jumping from the second floor.Ive never experienced being caught in this from hotels I stay and it will be my last.I don't recommend you let the front people put you somewhere strange in the hotel ask for second floor.By the way I really stay on higher floors then second I don't know why I was fogged about the front desk person convincing me that the room was special.Oh I know because she said she upgraded me to a room with two beds,which I think I had already requested anyway I'll think twice about this place.But if I'm in dire straight I'll neen the second floor please.

SD has lived in this house for 19 years. The location is good to go out on the 5th highway. There is an In-N-Out nearby and it is two steps away. It is also close to the Garnet Ave business district. The hotel's indoor parking space is relatively limited, and there is no more when you go back late at night. This is a pet friendly hotel, although clean in place but the corridor can still smell some, mindful or allergic people should pay attention.
