Thunderbird Resorts - Poro Point Reviews

We always stay at Thunderbird whenever going back to La Union. The pool view is awesome. Although the resort has still a lot to improve but still a great stay. Food in the restaurant was okay and served fresh. We will book again.

Nice view, but the beach is not accessible and can not swim either. We order pizza in the restaurant Thunderbird signature pizza but it is too soar and takes 1 hour serving time, the breakfast buffet is poor, nothing to eat, the food tray is empty, no spoon and fork and I ask for the spoon and fork and the staff get it but takes long time too. asked for an omelette but it was served more than half hour! My grandson went to the teens club but it is too hot the air conditioning is not working too. The other room I reserved for my friends room 317 aircon was also broken, they repair it however it is still hot. Although the room is spacious and have a nice view apart from it nothing seems special.

My kiddos and cousins loved our stay. One night is bitin. It was good the beach was open during our visit. It is usually close due to erosion. Venue is great but short of being 5 star as compared to hotels in metro manila

The deluxe room was spacious for a family of 4, and take note of the washroom providing a “suite like” feel. Although the cabinets were obviously worn out, one of them had molds and can even smell once you open it. However, room had been kept clean throughout our stay in. There was a limitation on access to amenities. The beach was closed due to soil erosion, hence we only able to use the infinity pool. Prepare cash for the deposit of 2k per night. No lift (south wing, ocean wing) we had to ask assistance from the hotel concierges to bring the luggages all the way up to the3rd floor.

The villa where we stayed is very spacious especially the bathroom. The disappointing experience is the sudden lack of water which occured 3x during the 1 day stay, although the reception and personnel were responsive when the problem was raised.

This hotel is too old and they don’t maintain well. My room was on 3rd floor and the water pressure was not enough to take shower. Also the shower faucets was not maintained well so the water from the shower goes everywhere they wants. They provided only one roll of toilet tissue, no more facial tissue in the room. They remained only few outlets, mostly blocked. Restaurant as well, a small piece of plastic came out from the food I ordered, and the pizza was the worst I’ve tried. Steak was fine but resort with local thickness of meat. I won’t go back with that high price. Better stay other new hotels right next to.

Tho the beach is unavailable due to soil erosion, we still manage to enjoy the place bc of the cozy vibes it offers. What makes me happier is that all the staffs were so friendly and accomodating.

Stayed overnight with my family. I had such high expectations from this property, given all that I’ve heard from others and read online. When we arrived, front desk was very friendly and accommodating. But the hotel itself is already rotting. Our room was so old and filthy, you would think they would at least update or MAINTAIN the furniture and everything else but NO. Dirty floors and walls, very very old cabinets. The bathroom had years of stains, very disturbing! As someone who’s not hard to please with hotel rooms, all I look for is cleanliness. I had a hard time being comfortable in the room. Even the water kettle is so old I couldn’t make coffee! Cups were chipped, not even replaced. Couldn’t sleep well because of it. Soft bed, working TV. We ordered room service. The beef in the biriani was as hard as rock. Couldn’t chew it! Ended up eating just the rice. Pizza was good though. Chairs and tables around the pool were so old and disgusting. Even the property itself showed signs of oldness. Maybe a repaint??? Very few selection from the breakfast buffet. The servers were not smiling at all. But really, the room’s cleanliness is the worst. I wouldn’t go back here. Can’t even take photos because I just feel disgusted.
