We did not expect a 5-star accommodation when booking at this motel, but went ahead since it was close to where other family members were staying when in town for a wedding. It is run-down, but rooms appeared fairly clean and we did not plan to stay in the rooms other than to sleep and dress. If the beach is your thing and amenities are optional, this is your place. There are a couple of cute coffee shops on the same street that are popular for breakfast and a funky bar right next door. However, Judah street is the turn-around point for the electric trolley, so there are trains going by with lights and noise from early morning until late night. We could only get one station on the TV., The worst part is that I had 2 pairs of earrings (one very expensive) taken from my luggage while staying there. When I contacted the manager, he responded that he was sorry, but that no jewelry was found in our room. Beware!

POSITIVE: Check in was easy - on our arrival day (Monday), we requested and received early (3 pm) check in (normal is 4 pm), which was helpful as Castro St. rush hour starts after 3 on weekdays. Didn’t have a problem with the access code mentioned in other reviews at check in or throughout stay. There’s a space right in front for easy loading/unloading. Note: if you have a car (we didn’t), parking is limited - the hotel recommends using SpotHero. To get an overnight (free) street space, you likely would need to find one up Castro or one of the cross-streets, which is doable but will take luck & time. Tip if you have a car: drop bags off, punch in access code and drop off in room. There are 4 rooms each on floors 2,3,4. Level 5 is roof lounge with excellent panoramic views (when not raining) couches and cozy fire pit. We booked a handicap accessible room (we needed two twin beds). Our room had a toilet/shower room with pocket door, sink with lighted mirror just outside pocket door, 2 twin beds, HDTV connected to wifi, 1/2 height wardrobe cabinet below TV, small fridge, coffee maker, tea kettle, small table for meals/work, and terrace overlooking back of property. Terrace had a chair and small cube. Prior reviews indicate better to be in back of building on higher floor. We were in back - it WAS very quiet, peaceful - got great non-interrupted sleep. Plenty of nice restaurants, a really nice supermarket, pharmacy, a Starbucks, and shops within walking distance. There are some homeless but they’re friendly and respectful and we never didn’t feel safe. (One actually held door open when I went into Walgreens and hands were full.). Check out was easy - take photo of QR code, leave door hanger, vacate unit, building. We were asked in texts a couple of times if all was well on our stay. Never needed to contact customer support. FOR IMPROVEMENT: We only found out lobby bar not open Monday or Tuesday - after arrival Monday (and we checked out Wednesday morning.) Still, they gave us two drink tokens - which we will use if/when we return. Very limited counter space and no shelves - none in toilet/shower room, a little area on either side of sink, small table (see note about lighting below), a few sq cm on nightstand between beds(see note about lighting below), and top of wardrobe closet. Very few power outlets - there is a cluster of 4 with 4 usb slots on small table, one behind nightstand(see note about lighting below), 2 on wall between small table and wardrobe, 2 at door, 2 hopefully GFI protected (didn’t see reset button) at sink - so unless you travel with a power *****, you’re going to have to sequence what gets recharged when thru your stay, or leave phone/ipad etc. away from bedside - not road warrior desireable. Coffee maker is Nespresso - lots of caffeinated pods zero decaf pods (for old timers or an evening cup. More caf pods in essentials cabinet on 1st floor lobby. They also provide small assortment of teas in room and more i

I’ve always had bad experiences with check in or just with front desk customer service. It was nice to have a nice experience for once. The lady that works the front desk was Super nice. She told kept me well informed of all that I am paying for including parking. Greeted with a smile was really professional. I think she said her name was Tofi. Bright young woman. Definitely will be staying here if I am in this area.

San Francisco gets enough bad press about street crime that we were concerned because we love to walk (and walk) in San Francisco. The Mission area around the Parker Guest House is completely safe (we saw many women out walking on their own at night) and full of fabulous restaurants, stores, small grocers, coffee shops, and coctail bars, a interesting range of house styles and a mix of residents of all ages that activley use all the amenities keeps the area vibrant. Delfina- the reviews saying it's unmatched held true- we had their shared rib dish- best beef we've ever had with the freshest ingredients; Bao-we're from Vancouver that has outstanding Asian food and this matched even our best; Indian and Mexican- lots that's excellent on nearby Valencia St from cheap tacos to moderatley priced Mexican bbq; great small grocer next to Delfina with fresh fruit, yogurt for light lunch or snacks. This neighbourhood is really wonderful to stay in. The Parker Guest House garden is a beautiful place to sit with a drink or to read a book. The rooms have lots of space, are fresh and pretty with huge comfy beds, and attention has been paid to small details in the rooms and main house like fresh flowers and a sun room with drinks lookinig out over the garden make it a great place to stay. Very central neighbourhood so driving into other areas was very easy. on site parking (out of sight) is a plus. Highly recomended.

Excellent
GGuest UserThe staff were very friendly and the facility was clean.
I enjoyed my stay with coffee in the morning and wine in the evening.
Because it was near the station, sightseeing was easy.
I still want to use it.
GGuest UserThe property seems completely new.. everything is fresh, beautifuly designed and clean. Staff is great, helpful and happy to help. Slight glitch - often the front desk is very busy ( it's a big hotel) and only on charming staff member.. ? Pool (not heated) is cool, as they write on the wall... with many pool ”inflatables” for the guests. Room is big, spacious, comfortable and of course, as clean as they come. Play room next to the lobby is a gem for a family after a long day. Huge bonus: free (neatly designed) bikes to hotel guests! ( first in first served). A fantastic experience in san francisco, caza hotel had a big part in it.
NNancy XIt's a hotel with some proud history. They've arranged a corridor to introduce their past and the hotel is elegantly decorated. There's some sort of package that I've paid for at trip.com. that I didn't really know about and they've given me 20 dollar allowance to use for the hotel food because of this. The room is clean, and basically you could use the lift by yourself because it requires you to enter your floor number before you get in the specific lift. The hotel is right in front of the union square so you're accesible to many stuff. I've talked to some guests at the breakfast place and some of them have come here many times. I think I would come again some time, if SF city has less homeless and become cleaner, like it used to be.
GGuest UserGreat stay with a great in-house Indian chef at their restaurant. Food was excellent. Not a grandiose property but was excellent for a base for day trip around San Francisco and walking out in the city. Staff was excellent. Only minor quip would be that I supposedly got a 2 level upgrade on my room. However, the view of the room was horrible and on a relatively low floor. I guess you need a ”20 level” upgrade to get a nice room. That said, having booking through Amex FHR and having those benefits, it made the stay nice.
GGuest UserIt is very convenient to travel. It is very close to Lombard Street and Fisherman's Wharf and can be walked. The key is that there is no homeless near the hotel, so it is very safe.
GGuest UserThis is a special place, no doubt. Every room is individually decorated and provides some retro Mafia/ Italian style interior. Even the group bathrooms are really with such level of detail, especially with it‘s historic armatures. Extroadinary and droll antiques are displayed on all floor levels which makes this place very cosy with a shabby attitude. So what‘s the „cons“? I am generally a friend of shabby, but if shabby becomes tacky than this could become problematic. Some examples. Dust was spread all over the room including lamps, wardrobe, etc. Which led to the impression that my room has not seen professional cleaning for a while. The room was fitted with a carpet which best days were over since a couple of decades. The carpet in my room showed a number of stains, which were ideally referring to some good red wine, but I felt uncomfortable walking in the room without shoes on. Finally the bed linen also showed some stains and I detected black hair on the pillow. So the overall summary is that the stay could have been much cosier and comfortable due to the unique in- and exterior of charming San Remo, but tidiness is key! Another positive aspect to mention is the fantastic location as Fishermans Wharf, Lombard Street and Golden Gate Park can all be reached easily in a couple of minutes by foot. So I really don't know if I liked this place or not, also given the fact that San Remo is not a bargain... Make your own views...
HHONGJUNThe location of the hotel is OK, just near Union Square, within a 500-meter walk of the hotel, there are many dining options, as well as restaurants and bars on the first floor of the hotel. Their services and conditions are pretty good. Regrettably, this time I stayed at the hotel, it happened that the hotel and building opposite were being renovated, and the noise was huge, which seriously affected the rest and overall feeling. We stayed in three types of rooms during the whole trip. The 5th floor viewing room was slightly quieter, and the 2nd floor suite was noisier. The fitness center of the hotel is outsourced Active, two blocks around the corner, about 5 minutes walk, it's ok.
GGuest UserMy wife and I enjoyed an amazing few days at the Hotel Triton. We were greeted by a helpful and friendly staff. As an added bonus, we arrived during Happy Hours so started our Staycation with complimentary beer and wine! Great location near Dragon’s Gate to China Town and a short walk to Union Square. Our room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. If planning a stay in San Francisco Hotel Triton is hard to beat! While it was our first stay here, it definitely won’t be our last.
BBryan GThe staff was very informative, polite, and kind. The front desk manager walked me from the office and down the sidewalk to show me the entrance to where I could find my room. He even helped me solve a kind of tricky situation with competence and ease allowing for compromise and a win-win situation. Honest folks here and a nice stay over.
I stayed at Calista Organic Hotel for a weekend getaway in San Francisco. The hotel's eco-friendly focus was a major draw for me. The room was clean and well-appointed, with organic toiletries and a very comfortable bed. The location is great, close to many attractions and public transportation. The only downside was the limited on-site amenities, but overall, it was a pleasant stay
