The Marker Union Square San Francisco

The hotel is very modern, and the suite size is generous. The location is excellent and feels very safe; there aren't many homeless people around, so walking the streets at night is not an issue. It offers great value for money. The restaurant is good, and there's also a small grocery store right across the street. There are plenty of dining options nearby, including a 24-hour restaurant just a short walk to the right, towards Union Square, which is said to have the best breakfast in San Francisco, with huge portions and good taste. Overall, fantastic value for money. I didn't get a chance to try the fitness facilities.

The hotel's location is pretty good, within walking distance to Powell Street and just a minute's walk to the Hilton. It's a fairly large hotel. I really appreciate having an ATM in the basement, though there's about a $4 fee if you use a Travelodge card. There was a deposit at check-in, which was successfully cancelled on my card a day after check-out. The staff were all pleasant, and the lounge area in the lobby is really well-designed. There's a restaurant on the first floor that seems to serve breakfast and also operates as a bar in the evenings, which is great for a safe nightcap. Housekeeping was adequate, but there's no toothpaste, toothbrush, or room slippers among the amenities. Even with the heating turned all the way up, it was a bit chilly at night. There's no master switch for the room lights, so I had to turn each one on manually, and overall the room was quite dim. There's a mini-fridge, and one can of water is provided; it seems they replenish it if you leave the empty can as trash. I would definitely stay here again.

Good location, but the city tax is extra.
