It was okay for what we needed it for. We were there just for one night. Unfortunately our room was right next to the street which made it very loud at night.

Despite the many bad reviews I saw online, I decided to take a leap of faith. Overall, this hotel is great value. For the location and price, I really don’t think it gets any better. You might find a cheaper hotel but it’s probably within Tenderloin and not worth risking your safety to save money. Here’s my honest review: Location: Amazing convenience, walking distance from great diners and shopping area. It is also relatively quiet at night (though this might depend on where your window faces) Amenities: The air con is indeed very loud. The fan makes a slight hum. The heater is silent. Depending on how you intend to sleep, this is a crucial factor. Coffee machine is provided, but there’s no drinking water. Only cold spa water is available at the lobby from a dispenser. You can also tell that the hotel is pretty old, but everything still works fine and it’s quite clean. Bed: Mattress and pillows quite firm and comfortable. Breakfast: This surpassed my expectations. Selection is limited but sufficient and good quality. There’s hot food (bacon / sausage / eggs) and also simple offerings like cereal and bread. Service: Great service. I changed my room twice. Initially I did not want a room near the elevator, and after that I was hoping to get a room with a silent air con. Did not happen. So please note, the air con is LOUD.

Enjoyed the location of the hotel. Since, it is a vintage hotel, expect that you’ll somewhat smell something weird. Also, the elevators are scary,,lol Kudos to the front desk staff, particularly Anjo, who assisted me in any ways he can, and also to Miguel who tried his very best to find us two beds, unfortunately; none!, and I reserved two beds,,, Just wondering why I needed to make a $200 deposit, to think that I have paid everything. Thanks y’all

It's a historic building, but well-maintained and tidy. Both check-in and check-out are self-service, but it was simple and easy to understand. The air conditioner was loud when running, but I didn't need to use it, so it didn't bother me. Room cleaning isn't provided (it costs extra if requested), but if you ask for towels or other items, they bring them quickly. The breakfast was simple, but I liked that the menu changed slightly every day. Overall, I'd say it's a good choice if you're just looking for a place to sleep and are fine with simple services. I was surprised to be charged for amenities at check-out, though. It would be helpful if this were mentioned when booking, as it could be a factor in choosing a hotel.

Located on a hill near Union Square in the heart of San Francisco, the hotel requires a slight uphill walk, but it’s manageable enough to consider it light exercise. On the first day, the room assigned to me had issues with the TV and internet, so I was moved to another room the following day. The breakfast was satisfying, offering yogurt, eggs, hash browns, a variety of breads, cereal, coffee, and juice. Although the building is over 100 years old and the facilities feel somewhat dated, they are well maintained, so there was no significant inconvenience. The hotel has a classic, old-world charm.

Good sides: 1. The breakfast is basic but decent. Toast, butter, jam, plain yogurt, eggs, pancakes, and some fruit(apples/oranges), along with coffee. 2. Great location. Downsides: 1. I was charged a NIGHTLY AMENITY FEE at checkout, which wasn't clearly mentioned during the booking process. I'm not sure if it's an issue with the hotel or trip-dot-com. It definitely felt a bit like being overcharged. 2. There was no room service, which makes it more suitable for a short stay or just a few nights. 3. The AC was old and quite noisy.

There's not much in terms of service. Housekeeping costs extra, but the front desk staff were quite friendly when I had questions. If you're staying in winter, be cautious – the heater in my room was broken (it was like a baseboard heater), and they ended up giving me a small portable heater. The room itself wasn't cold, but the bathroom was. The breakfast included is great value for money, even though it's just simple toast, butter, bacon, and eggs, with coffee and orange juice. At least it saved me ten bucks on breakfast. It's very close to Chinatown. Overall, it's quite retro and a bit old-fashioned. It felt safe though.

First night was a nightmare next to the Elevator, even when I request with anticipation here from Trip.com App Not to be near to the elevator. I made my checking after nine 9pm and I felt like it was a punishment for the fact that they gave me the worst room of All rooms there! Not a view, Cold and the elevator noise was a nightmare! In my last and second night, I was ready to walk out… When they informed to me that finally they had a better room to offer me, and away from the elevator… It wasn’t so far at all, but at least I could sleep better. So I will not recommend this hotel for business class, but for touristic purposes yes, it will be ok.
