Loved our stay here! The hostal is quaint, filled with incredible art, close to everything but also far enough away from the hustle to be nice and quiet. Breakfasts were lovely, our host was extremely genial and we also enjoyed the company of the two cats that live there. Highly recommend a stay here if you’re in San Pedro.

There are people to welcome you from the morning till afternoon, but if you arrive 22:00 there are no people to let you in.... Please arrange with the owners to let you in and not disturb the rest of the quests ringing the bell. The place is very charming and the owner is a great lady. Breakfast is very nice and she is making fresh/hot omelet of scramble eggs. Near the center of the Village.

Nice place Great stay, but people arriving at 22:00 with no previous arrangements and ringing the bell and making notice. Where they think they going? To a hotel? If you arrive in the morning till afternoon, there is someone at the property. Breakfast is great, with the lady making scrambled eggs. I enjoyed my stay

This was the perfect hostel which was like an oasis in the desert. The kitchen facilities were amazing and the breakfast was brilliant. If you were going out early for a tour, they would leave your breakfast in the communal fridge for you to collect. It was such a cute little place which felt very safe. It is about a 10 minute walk to the centre, but completely fine and we enjoyed the walk. The room was cozy and clean and the duvets were nice as it gets chilly at night. The only minor inconvenience was that there was no hot water, but otherwise a fantastic place which I would recommend. And the hostel cats were so so cute!!

Do NOT trust the high rating on this place. First off, they advertise a 24 hours "front desk" but it's really a whatsapp number that sporadically answers. We arrived with some delay at 9 PM at the door, rang the bell several times and finally had to call via WhatsApp a few times until a guy called Rodrigo called someone to open the door. But that was nothing compared to the water situation at this place. First morning - stone cold water. Then day 2 and 3, NO water at all. Not in the room and not in the shared kitchen area. Imagine being in a desert town, with a tour pick-up at 5 AM and stuck with no water for shower or simple toilet use. If you try reaching the Whatsapp number at those times, there is no response until around 8 AM. Every time a staff member came smiling when we returned, did "something" and then fixed the problem, only for it to return the following early morning. On the last night i asked Rodrigo for a guarantee that there will be flowing water and he said he'll call someone to ensure it works. The end result was that we left for the Airport with a 5 AM answer having cleaned ourselves with water from the drinking bottles we had. Lots of "oh sorry" and "i'll give you one night back via Paypal" (which i don't use. But i don't care about money....i wanted a simple, basic stay WITH water. To anyone considering this place, please be cautioned. There are better options at more central locations with good service. But this one is definitely not in that category.

Simply horrible stay on an otherwise great anniversary trip. They advertise a 24 hour front desk, but it's a WhatsApp number that you need to contact after hours and only responds during certain hours. We arrived at 9 PM, rang the bell for 10 minutes and then had to call the WhatsApp number after which a guy called Rodrigo called someone to open for us. But the worst was the water situation. First morning early rise for a tour, only icy water coming from the sink and shower. Second morning again an early 4 AM rise, NO water at all. Lots of excuses when we returned from the tour and a promise that it will be OK. Third morning, you guessed it, no water. We left for the airport after cleaning ourselves with bottled water we bought the day earlier and used the restrooms at the airport. Lots of smiles, "lo siento" and excuses and an offer to pay back one night, but I don't care about the money, I care about service. And no matter how basic and rustic, water should be the number 1 commodity in any hostel of any kind, but especially so in a desert town. If you are considering this place, look further for more centrally located facilities with better service. I know maybe there will be a reply by them, but if you want, I saved the entire chat conversation and can provide. This one is horrible and I'd give zero stars but have to mark at least one.... Unfortunately

A delightful place to stay in San Pedro de Atacama. Excellent ambience, great staff, good location. Very decent price. Folksy. This is a hostal, not an Intercontinental, but I would rather stay here. Bonus: A nice cat sleeps on a couch in the entrance, probably resting up for a nightly search for vermin. Start patting, and she just rolls over and exposes her belly for more.

Muchas Gracias, amigos 🙏🏼!
