It was a surprisingly pleasant surprise. We had booked the wrong airport; we should have flown to Oslo Airport, but ended up at Sandelford Airport (one of two different airports in the capital). We arrived at the airport around 10 PM and, worried about missing the train to Oslo, decided to stay overnight and head to Oslo the next morning. Clara Hotel was cheap and, importantly, offered airport transfers, so we chose it for a layover. It turned out to be a brilliant decision! First, our flight was delayed by over two hours, and by the time we got our luggage, it was almost 1 AM… The guy at Clara was there to meet us right next to the baggage carousel, holding a sign with our names on it. The next morning, he took us to the train station, providing a seamless connection to Oslo Airport. The hotel is a guesthouse, and it felt like staying with a local family. It was very cozy, had a kitchen, and offered free breakfast in the morning: bread, milk, coffee, and jam. The owner even gave us a croissant to take home for the trip, and last night when we arrived, he told us we could eat the bread, biscuits, and milk in the kitchen if we got hungry. There were also candies and chocolates in the room. Everything was amazing!! Considering the taxi fare from Bodø to the airport is less than 2 kilometers and only cost 239 kronor!! So this night was practically free!! The only downside was the shared bathroom, and there was no elevator if you stayed on the second floor. But as a transit point to the airport, compared to all the other advantages of Clara, these two points were insignificant. Clara was truly a delightful surprise before the end of my trip!!
