This was the third time that my wife and I have stayed at the Juan De La Cosa with Saga, in the last couple of years. For us, it continues to be a delightful hotel that provides a sense of ‘coming home’ largely because it feels ‘Comfortable’ with a capital C. All of the staff are very warm and welcoming and the food and drinks are excellent. The hotel is situated in an outstanding location overlooking a large and totally unspoiled beach with views out to the Bay of Biscay - in our opinion a real gem. It is very much a Northern Spanish hotel, unlike those you may have come across elsewhere in Spain, but it still manages to cater for the whims and vagaries of us British without losing sight of its Spanish heritage. The area is also very interesting with beautiful villages, towns and cities nearby to visit. What makes the hotel particularly special for us are two people. Firstly, the Saga representative, Belen, who is a total delight - we have never come across such an amusing, caring and warm hearted representative who genuinely cares about her guests anywhere in the World. Secondly, the owner/manager, Margot, is just as delightful and caring and is also a very knowledgeable lady, especially about this area of Spain. Between them they make a great team who look after their guests wonderfully - nothing is too much trouble for them! We hope to make a further return visit in the not too distant future.
