I booked this hotel on the 8th December 21' for my 30th birthday in June '22 because the pictures/videos were amazing and honestly most reviews were really good and the hotel seemed reputable. Just to confirm, I booked a fully refundable rate with free cancellation 21 days before arrival and only a 50% deposit was to be charged to confirm the booking. A few days after making the booking, 50% was taken as expected, however a few days after that, ANOTHER 50% of the booking was double charged. I understood that it might have been a mistake but this was the first red flag for me. I reached out to the hotel immediately to query the double charge and Anthony the manager confirmed this was a mistake on their part and that he would look into this the following morning. The following morning Anthony called me and reassured me that the double charge had been refunded and was really apologetic so I believed that this had been resolved. This was the week before Christmas! After a week or so, I still had not received the refund for the double charge so sent a number of emails throughout December but received NO response. I then sent another email on 4th Jan 2022 and finally received a response apologising for the delay and using Christmas and bank holidays to justify the lack of communication. Anthony again confirmed that the 'funds would be released by the 7th Jan' - whatever that means. As you can probably guess, the 7th Jan came and still no refund. Due to frustration I cancelled the whole booking and as per the cancellation policy should have received a full refund by now. It is now FEBRUARY 14TH 2022 and I still have not received a refund for the double charge or cancelled booking. I have now had to raise a dispute with my bank who are looking into this which can take up to 60 days and I am extremely disgusted, shocked and disappointed at the lack of urgency to refund money taken from my account without authorisation. This is definitely not a 5 star experience and I believe the hotel lacks fundamental values such as integrity. Please don't get distracted by the social media posts like I did. I definitely encourage you to avoid this hotel. It's not worth the stress at all! I wish I could rate the hotel 0.

Astarte Suites

Akrotiri Santorini|2.7km from Akrotiri Lighthouse
I have been to Santorini many times in the past, but I never experienced my stay there as I have done in Astarte Suites. It has been some months since I came back from Astarte Suites, and I can’t stop thinking of this every day! Our Honeymoon trip was faultless from start to finish. Our Astarte private suite with the infinity pool was super comfortable and kept immaculate, toiletries and mini bar generously replenished. We had a panoramic sea view from our room, even from our bed!, with stunning views of Caldera, Fira and Thirassia island – what a great way to start your day! Our suite had a spacious patio with Jacuzzi, huge daybed and of course the large infinity pool to cool off. The food in the Alali restaurant was excellent, varied and always well presented. There was an extensive wine selection of local and international labels. The sommelier is very knowledgeable. Compliments to the Executive Chef Adam Kodovas and the Chef Manos Regkoukos for the amazing menu – the gyozas and the octapus satay were to die for! But what is not negotiable is the breath-taking view of the Caldera and Fira during the golden hour of the famous Santorini’s sunset. The perfect light and view to capture stunning photos. We keep looking at the photos and videos we took. The staff in the resort are super friendly, professional and enthusiastic. We were amazed by the details of attention that the staff have put in us. As they knew it was our honeymoon, the brought champagne, cake and flowers to our room upon our arrival. They also went the extra mile to make restaurant reservations and transportation arrangements for us. The main thing that struck me about all the staff is that they seemed to enjoy their jobs and genuinely cared how the guests were. We will be back before too long.

A tranquil stay with welcoming and helpful staff. The accommodation was spotless, comfortable and provided the perfect setting for a siesta. The shower was powerful and always had hot water, and the air conditioning and safe worked perfectly. The views from the room’s balcony were beautiful and unspoilt, it was so lovely being able to enjoy a cocktail whilst watching the sunset over the sea. The pool area is more beautiful than the photos show! The food and drink were plentiful and very tasty. We had the Greek BBQ on our third night and it was sensational. We opted for the Santorini salad for lunch, which was absolutely scrumptious! The staff were all very helpful and demonstrated great hospitality skills. They arranged taxis to and from Oia and Fira for us and provided additional towels etc. when requested. The only slight thing that could may make the stay even better would be providing complimentary bottled water, replenishing in room coffee/ tea bags each day and pool side service for cocktails etc (although, it wasn’t much effort to walk to reception and order drinks etc.) Overall, it was a lovely relaxing place to stay, away from the hustle and bustle of the busy places but close enough to all the attractions via prompt and reasonably priced taxis.
Sunset Faros

It is the second time we stayed in Faros Sunset. We were here at May 19. The reasons that we choose this hotel is because of: 1) of its location . You can see the best sunset. This August we were lucky and enjoyed also the full moon. Apart from the location, 2) you can understand what greek hospitality is . The family Martha, Fani and Nikos make you feel that it is your home. Despite the hospitality you can see the kindness and the full smile on their face. Very helpfull for any info that you need!! I would advice the stay to this hotel for
Cape Sisu Suites

A small hotel that boasts fantastic views. Large spaces around the pool with a pleasant dark color. White structure with thick walls, cool and soundproof. Very comfortable bed. Lighting in the room, a bit dim near the bed. Quiet environment away from cars and traffic. Cleaning is acceptable. They could be more careful to remove dust not only in the room but also around the pool with a garden pump. It is very annoying. Overall a pleasant and relaxing stay. Recommended

Akrotiri
Wow! What can I say? My husband and I, had the most fabulous holiday, staying at this beautiful hotel. The rooms were good size, clean and immaculate. We had wanted a hotel outside Fira or Oia, so Akrotiri was just the job. The hotel has views over the caldera, as well as looking out toward to bottom of Santorini. It has its own restaurant and two more within a five minute walk, both offer a wide variety of good home cooked food, the staff are friendly and both offer great views of the famous Santorini sunset. The service was excellent and the staff…. the staff couldn’t do enough for you. They deserve a special mention as Santorini is their home and they made us feel so very welcome, allowing my to practice my Greek, and always showed an interest in, how we saw the island and our new experiences. Panos, the young bar tender, whose family have a wonderful restaurant near the lighthouse, Vassily our chef , who always had wonderful treats to try at breakfast, and Adriana the night receptionist, all made our visit wonderful, but, the hidden gem was Iwanna ( Joanna) the morning receptionist, her knowledge was astounding, giving detailed recommendations, to see beautiful hidden treasures as well as fantastic restaurant’s, the Ammoudi fish tavern and Character in Fira being the best, but all were amazing ( we went to about 10-12 and all were excellent) She would happily make reservations, as places were getting booked up. Hiring a car or buggy is vital, as taxi’s charge coming out from Fira before taking you on your journey. We hired both a buggy for a couple of days and a little car, which made getting around much easier. Finally, we had the best holiday that my husband and I can remember, and a large part of that, was staying at this hidden gem of a hotel. X
