Mesaria Santorini|0.57km from Santorini Wine Museum
Location- a little village about 10 minutes outside of Thira. We hired a quad bike and it was the perfect way to get around the island. There is a lovely supermarket (which the most adorable stray dogs often relaxing near by), a gorgeous bakery, a pizzeria etc all about 5 minutes by car 15/20 min walk from the accommodation. It’s pretty central in the island so it’s really handy to get to everything. Oia about 30 minutes away, Kamari beach about 10 minutes away, lost Atlantis museum about 15 minutes away, Akrotiri 25 minutes away (must see! Greeces ‘Pompeii’) Accommodation- We stayed in room 5. The plunge pool and outdoor space was perfect we spent so much time out there relaxing. Everything was fresh and clean as you’d expect with the accommodation being so new. The bed was comfy, towels and bed linen clean, an nespresso machine and fridge were in the room and a GOOD hair dryer was too. Pool towels were provided and a selection of white company toiletries were also provided. The only thing they could improve was that these were TINY and they didn’t get replaced daily like they usually do in hotels so we ended up running out of shower gel. An ironing board was in the room and we just asked reception when we needed an iron which they quickly brought to us. They use WhatsApp if you need anything and this is also how we ordered our daily breakfast. This was a super easy process and they were prompt at replying. One thing we did notice was that the only mirror was in the bathroom so it would have been handy to have a floor length one somewhere but it obviously isn’t a deal breaker. The AC worked well and the cave rooms are tastefully done. We did notice a few ants when we first got there which I think is to be expected but I sprayed the unit with insect repellent and this wasn’t an issue after this. Breakfast- The breakfast menu was good. The portion sizes were good and it came with a bread roll, a pastry and fresh orange juice. I do think perhaps changing the bread roll for some fruit for example may have been nice as we didn’t eat any of the bread after having the pastry. Due to being pregnant I couldn’t have a lot of what was on the menu due to it containing eggs and feta but my partner said it was all delicious. I ate the Greek yoghurt which was so tasty! There wasn’t any decaf coffee for the nespresso which meant I didn’t have a coffee all week so it would have been nice to have been able to have the option of adding this in for breakfast. Late checkout- we requested late check out which originally they asked for €109 and we paid €90.. a bit steep for a late checkout but we had no choice as we didn’t fly until 18:55 and the quad bike had to go back at 13:00! All in all I would love to return and I would defiantly recommend. The accommodation was perfect, the staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. We were sad to leave!

I had two separate bookings here and my arrival times for both were during very obscure hours due to my ferry and flight times. Regardless, check in was extremely simple and smooth both times with constant communication. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable with a bigger than usual fridge plus kettle and wall mounted tv. It’s located very close to the airport and has several supermarkets and places to eat within a five minute walking distance. The pool was nice and had enough depth and length for a decent swim. The woman who assisted me was very helpful and friendly the entire time and was flexible given my situation. She also assisted with questions and recommendations after the fact and allowed me to use the pool and shower after checkout time. I’d Recommend a car if you want to explore the island but there is also a bus stop near by.

We had a hugely enjoyable and relaxing stay at Kallos Imar. Every member of the hotel team was friendly, extremely helpful and had the main purpose of making our stay so good, as their main aim. Really useful suggestions for places to visit, excursions to book, or not, no notice pick-ups from across the island, spotless rooms and communal areas and a genuine interest over our experiences and adventures made this one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. We would thoroughly recommend staying here. The location is away from the busy tourist spots but ideally positioned to access any area of the island. Mesaria has several excellent places within easy walking distance to eat that the hotel will recommend, and we ate alongside local people rather than the restaurant/taverna being focused on tourists alone, giving us genuine local recipes and tastes.

If you have always dreamed of Santorini and stay in a cave house; this is the place. . Since we entered the experience is fabulous, terrace with sofas and sunbeds, private pool ... but it doesn't stop here; As you enter your cave house, every detail from floor to ceiling is exquisitely manicured and decorated, the dimensions of your villa are more than generous (opens space living room and kitchen) and then 2 stunning bedrooms. In the living room there is a flat tv just as in each bedroom. You are in a cave house, but you have all the luxuries and amenities of a super apartment. The Vicky who received us is extremely competent and gave us all possible indications; As the hotel was so beautiful and the heat was drawing us to the pool, Vicky gave us the indication of a take away Greek food that had plenty of divine food. Rent a car and stay at this hotel, because in Santorini there is parking next to the main areas so you will have the luxury of a cave house that in Oia or Fira would cost you a fortune a night for much less. We stayed here with a travel Group (TripADeal) and we’re extremely disappointed. The Twin room booked was of good size however the bedding was a queen bed and a sofa lounge which was broken in the middle and just 2” off the floor. The shower was filthy dirty and covered in mould and the bathroom vent sounded like a jet plane taking off. When this was reported to Reception, we were told to just turn it off (not ideal when there was no window in the bathroom to open). There is no kettle, tea or coffee facilities which would have been lovely given we arrived late at night. There is also no water provided. The owner (elderly lady in the front desk) was very abrupt and not helpful at all. The younger girl was lovely although she didn’t have any discretion to assist when requested. Breakfast was quite good with reasonable variety. The supermarket across the road was handy however Messaria itself was not a good first impression of Santorini. It is quite dirty and the roads are quite dangerous to walk along (bitumen is broken with no footpath to speak of). The bus stop is down hill about a 5 minute walk and the bus to Fira is a good service. About e1.60 and then you get a 2nd bus to Oia for the same amount. Overall this Hotel was disappointing however could be quite good with a bit of TLC and a nice owner.

the kindness of Julia and the quality of the reception, the very good joint pipes without headline (Thanks for the restaurant on the sea ^^ )and avoiding (large) traps to tourists, located in the city centre but very easy to park (in ATV), and very quiet despite everything (good quality of double-glass windows), the help to resolve the small tracks of the holidays, the hotel was renovated recently, everything is clean and beautifully arranged from the terrace to the rooms by passing by reception, open supermarket until late in the night in front of the hotel perfect to make some shopping if necessary without worrying about the hour, near the practical airport for departure
