Sanya Sanliang Design Seaview Hotel

Rooms are spacious and clean: quiet AC, air purifier and comfy bed. The bathroom doesn’t have a door, only curtain. The rooftop pool is a major draw and attracts a party crowd. Sound will be cut off at 11pm like everywhere else in Houhai, but be aware that it’s very unlikely that you’ll be able to sleep before that. The hotel is currently the last one on the beach, which is actually a quieter spot than being on the middle of the *****.

My only annoyance is that our “window” was into a street ally or something…. Couldn’t see anything except a wall… but I think that’s my fault for not checking which room I booked! Over all it was clean, we were not bothered by noise and it was a nice space that seemed brand new. Bar upstairs is our favorite in Houhai (we went there all the time on our last trip too) with a pool and epic view of the ocean, best drinks! Super location right on the beachfront and it has very lovely staff.

Super Location, nice pool!

It’s my second stay in this hotel, the location is very nice but the service is less pleasant. For a 5 night stay we had twice a leaking problem in the room from the AC. The first time a handy man stayed for 1minute in the room and said “all ok” while 10min later the problem happened again. They then came to “fix” the problem and left cigaret buds on the floor after leaving. The following day the problem started again at 8:00. I woke up in a bed completely wet. One of the receptionist was very helpful and changed our room immediately and told us a discount would be applied for the inconvenience. Then arrived the day of the check out... the nice receptionist wasn’t there unfortunately and her colleague seemed to have “forgotten” what happened and just told us “all ok”. When I asked her about what was promised she acted like she had no clue and wasn’t very cooperative. After insisting she finally called her boss and gave us a ridiculous discount. It’s really a shame that this hotel has wrongly trained staff with no sense of hospitality. I won’t go back to this hotel next time I go to Sanya.
