Hotels in Yalong Bay, Sanya

Excellent hotel and good value for money. Rooms are large, swimming pool is very nice with kids pool and adult one, the kids playground in the villa area is terrific, the location is perfect (5 minutes walk to a shopping center with restaurants, 5 minutes walk to beach, 5 minutes walk to a food street with night market). The style is also pretty (white and pink flowers on the hotel walls). Small negative note: the restaurant in hotel (buffet) is a bit expensive even though the wall aquarium is nice and food seems very good quality. An “a la carte” option would be nice for small families that doesn’t especially want to go with expensive buffet. Also no bar in hotel opened after 8pm.

Firstly the concierge at the front desk was easy to contact before arriving at the hotel. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary so I asked them to plan ahead whatever they could and they prepared some cake and a romantic bed setup. The front desk clerk was available at most times during the day if we had any questions or requests. The selected villa room was spacious and very comfortable. Room service did a good job daily and they were very understanding. The hotels facilities are pretty great. All maintained well. The location of the hotel is superb for yalong bay, it’s walking distance from the beach. The breakfasts weren’t bad either, and the breakfast time was up until 12:00 which is amazing. This was a fantastic experience and I’d recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Sanya for leisure.

Pros: 1.Very close to the beach! Barely a walk at all! 2. Great for families with small children as there’s a lot of shallow pools good for toddler height 3. Lots of slides. About 5 really good ones for ages 3+ and then some smaller ones for younger kids. Best part is adults can go on the slides too! 4. Good amount of pools and spread out which helps it feel less crowded. Also has a roofed in pool in a cave (great if it rains) 5. Excellent seaside buffet and fun entertainment like magic show, fire dancers etc. 6. Good service and staff add your wechat if you have problems they can speak English 7. Free photo shoot up to 5 pics for every hotel guest. 30 rmb extra for additional photos if wanted. Book 1 day in advance. 8. Lots of activities for kids like climbing frame, pottery making, a small zoo etc 9. Very close to a shopping plaza (across the street). They have traditional Hainan restaurants and even Hagen Das ice cream. Cons: 1. If you don’t have small children you many feel very overwhelmed by the crowds of kids. I’ve stayed at several 5 star hotels but this one feels the most noisy and bustling. Not as peaceful and serene like others. It’s just very crowded and the breakfast buffet gets crowded if you go too late. I highly suggest you don’t choose this hotel if you don’t have children ages 0-10. It’s really catered to that age group. It’s a paradise for kids! 2. Breakfast buffet doesn’t have a lot of western food choices. There are some. Managed to see waffles at some point but compared to other hotels the western food section is less. 3. The layout of the hotel is a bit confusing and hard to navigate but after a day or two it starts to make sense. It’s just like it’s own little busy town. 4. All of the hot tubs were empty and not functioning. Might be a seasonal thing but we like hot tubs even in July. 5. The map of the hotel and activity schedule for kids is only in Chinese. Would me nice if they had a bilingual version to help out foreign guests. Overall, I would recommend you choose this hotel if you’re focused on the pool entertainment for younger kids and safety for kids not quite able to swim as there’s a lot of fun shallow pools and play areas.

The beach is just across the street, really close. There are some shops and cheep Chinese food nearby. There is a restaurant nearby 'Seasea' which is awful, don't go there. The room was really clean and nice. The staff was really helpful. Buffet breakfast was pretty delicious. Mostly Chinese food, but it was ok. The water in the sea was clean and really warm in August 2022. I will come back to this hotel!

The hotel’s price/performance ratio is relatively high: 1. The hotel is located in the Huayu Hotel, one of the townhouses of the Huayu Hotel. It is said that the Chinese sold one of the houses and the buyer used it as a homestay. The swimming pool of the Chinese hotel can be used, but the sun loungers on the beach cannot be used. Other hotel facilities 2. Next to Baihuagu Commercial Street, Yalong Bay Central Square, far from the sea, it takes 10 minutes to walk there, if you want the hotel to have a private beach, don’t choose 3. The service staff is not too enthusiastic. Breakfast is a simple meal, but it's not bad.

The hotel is a little dated and you can tell it used to be nice and modern. The rooms could use an update or a little “zhuzh”though. The amenities are good and the grounds are well kept. The staff is also amazing and were helpful whenever I had problems. I do get you’re paying for the Marriott brand but compared to other Marriott owned hotels, this hotel is just ok. A bit underwhelming and overpriced. Breakfast was good with a variety of options from Western to Chinese. The restaurant also had tasty, flavourful food I tried for dinner. Big up to this . I was upgraded to the pool access room which was nice, I had escaped cold Shanghai for a warmer place, ended up not swimming because the pool was a little cold. Wish it was heated( maybe the kiddy pool was). Sanya was unfortunately gloomy and cold so didn’t get a chance to enjoy the ocean. Overall the stay was just okay. Nice if you want easy access to a beach you can actually swim in.

This time I went to Hainan on a business trip to Yalong Bay. I searched for this store on the Internet. It was really good, the price is very cheap, and the environmental sanitation is excellent. The main thing is that it is very close to the commercial center. It is very convenient to travel and eat. They are all nearby. Commercial streets and restaurants, you don’t need to take a car when you go out, you can walk for a few minutes, and you have the opportunity to stay in this hotel

I often stay at the Yalong BNay Mangrove Tree, as ir's excellent value for money. Nice rooms, excellent location, direct access to the beach. and a pretty good breakfast. It all makes for a quite pleasant stay.

Wonderful. Had a great stay, very relaxing and chill atmosphere. It wasn’t super crowded. Beach access is incredible and there are a ton of beautiful spaces whether you are on the beach or the resort grounds. There are tons of activities and amenities, and the room was fantastic. Cleaned and restocked with water daily. Food and service were both excellent. Do yourself a favor and check out the spa for a variety of relaxing options. Love it here, will book again.

It was our first time in this hotel and we enjoyed it A LOT! Since you arrive the staff ( even though they can’t speak much English) is really nice. Especially at the desk zhang wen juan was absolutely nice. She shared with us her wechat and could resolve any doubt we have. And also the staff at the entrance of the lobby and the one at the gate. They offer you a boggie car to your room or the beach in one minute. The beach is private ( only 2 minutes away by boggie car) and amazing: with waves and soft sand. The environment of the hotel is beautiful, very green with many plants. You feel you are always alone, not crowded at all even though you see many people in the breakfast. We stayed in a villa room and even though we have a shared pool with other 3 rooms the pool was very big and clean and we were alone always we took a bath. The pool at the hotel is quite nice because you can see the lagoon from it. And in the kids pool they have bubbles from 16-18h. The Chinese restaurant is quite good too. Maybe the breakfast could be improved a bit but anyway you have western and Chinese options, fresh fruit, cheese, noddles… and a patio outside in case you prefer stay outside the dinning room. We loved it and we will come back for sure!!
