A few issues: The front desk staff's service was quite mediocre; their demeanor visibly changed when they saw a Chinese passport. To cut labor costs, the hotel has hired many staff from South Asian countries, which significantly impacts service efficiency and awareness! The hot spring water always felt a bit under temperature! The hotel opened in 1985, so the facilities are very old. If you're not a fan of traditional old Japanese ryokans, I wouldn't recommend it! Everything else was just so-so.

Pretty much happy staying in this hotel. Buffet food for dinner and breakfast already worth the price. Plus they have onsen whether indoor and open air in the ground oor. And the top floor onsen. The view is amazing, I got to see a river and forest cover by snow while having breakfast. 100/10

My stay at this hotel was an extremely poor experience; I even had belongings stolen. I strongly advise anyone traveling to Japan to avoid this place and prioritize their personal safety – Japan is not as safe as you might think! The hotel's facilities are incredibly old, with clear signs of wear and tear on all the equipment, which significantly detracted from the experience. What's even more outrageous is the complete lack of surveillance cameras, meaning there's absolutely no security whatsoever. During my stay, cash was unfortunately stolen from my room. When I reported it to the hotel staff immediately, they were cold and indifferent, showing no willingness to assist with an investigation or help resolve the issue. I was left with no choice but to call the police, and I never received any follow-up or response from the hotel afterwards. When traveling, safe accommodation is a fundamental requirement. This hotel not only has terrible facilities but also lacks basic security and a responsible service attitude. It's truly unacceptable. I want to reiterate: when you travel, always be vigilant, safeguard your personal belongings, and take all necessary safety precautions. Do not let your guard down!

The rooms are divided into new and old sections; we stayed in the old building. Honestly, for a hot spring hotel, the onsen here is really disappointing. The rooftop onsen in the new building, advertised as open-air, is tiny and has no view. The one in the basement of the old building requires going up and down floors just to get there, which is exhausting, and the water isn't even hot enough. The food was also just mediocre. The only upside was that there was a light festival at Jozankei Shrine, and staying here got us free tickets.

The Japanese-style tatami room was very distinctive, and the hotel's facilities and equipment were well-maintained. The large public bath operates on a daily rotation for men and women, and the outdoor hot spring pools on each side are different.
