We arrived to find a beautiful hotel
In a lush setting with the most beautiful foliage with tropical birds. The grounds were a paradise. Every morning we were serenaded with the songs of all the different bird species. The restaurant was an excellent Italian restaurant that we would recommend to anyone. The staff was always happy to provide any assistance with a smile.

We were forced to stay here when the airport hotel we had booked & prepaid 6 weeks in advance gave our room away the night before our arrival. Since we were in Costa Rica & Trip.com only gave us this one option we didn't feel like we had much alternative but to stay here. It was just like the photo below indicates. Like another guest said, it is like a ghost resort with a lot of empty buildings that are unused & not maintained. The room was very sparse (no desk, chair to sit in, etc.) & the bed like sleeping on a board. The only positive thing I can say is it did seem clean. I don't recommend staying here & I am upset that Trip.com didn't do a better job of finding us a decent place to stay. The restaurant also wasn't very good.

Excellent service and a good breakfast. The facilities are many years old; they would have been luxurious in their day and maintain their colonial style, but the bathrooms, for example, need renovation. The pool is huge, and so is the restaurant.
We didn't see the spa; I don't think it's even active; the area was quite neglected.

If you are not white the workers are not pleasant towards you. False advertisement of gym, spa, and ******. They don’t have any of it. Hotel is really old even the sink makes weird noises and the toilet always leaks every time you flush. Also, workers go in your room to clean even when you do not put up a sign allowing them to. They will turn off your AC and leave windows open for mosquitoes to get in. Free breakfast, more like little finger foods

This was my first time in Costa Rica. I loved that the hotel was super close to the airport and traveling to other cities was extremely easy using Uber and the bus. But, there were seperate beds and the bed i had was a twin so my partner and i couldnt sleep comfortably together. The worst part was having no water when I needed a shower….and the towels were old. However, the Staff was absolutely amazing!! Each one was very helpful and cheerful too. They were pleasant and made the trip very enjoyable.
