Domaine de Murtoli

Poorly designed golf course (actually dangerous), poorly maintained ! Only 9 holes …. For 170 € - this is a Corsican joke - ridiculously expensive GOLF TO BE AVOIDED No indication on the golf course where to go …. This is not a competition golf course

We’ve been Murtoli guests for 3 nights in August. The Domaine is incredibly located, quiet and with a magical atmosphere. The beach -very exclusive and protected- is perfect for a relaxing stay. The room very comfortable, huge and with a good privacy, is well equipped. The boat trip to “plage d’argent” has been amazing and the skipper was extremely professional and kind. On the other hand there are some points to improve (I’ve sent an email at the end of our stay but I did not received any feedback/answer, and I find this extremely unprofessional.) : 1) arrived at the reception, during the check-in nobody told us about the domaine, about the swimming pool, about the golf, about the beach, about restaurants, about ANYTHING ! Spending more than 1.000€/night means receive a different treatment. 2) The guy that brought us the lagguage in the room the day of the arrival, just left them (rudely) at the entrance of the room. We expected to have them inside the fitting room. 3) Breakfast a la carte is ok, but I expect more variety of food/drinks and different choices salty and sweet. service during the breakfast has been extremely basic (nobody greet us at the arrival in the breakfast room, we’ve needed to ask how it works and so far and so on.) 4) Only the last day there was a guy, very professional, smiling and suited to the domaine. The day of the check out, at least a small bottle of water we expected but ... nothing . We just received a "have a nice trip, enjoy Corsica".

Murtoli is an experience you will never forget. We were a group of 12 friends traveling there to celebrate the 50 anniversary of one of them. From the moment you step down from the car, someone is welcoming you. In our case it was the daughter of the owners welcoming us at 11.30 in the evening. She was extremely nice, explaining all the facilities, the program they have and all the possibilities we have around. The check-in was fast - you had your welcome drink wile the formalities were done. The front desk staff was always nice and helpful. The bartender was also willing to accommodate all our wishes and stayed till the last order was done. We stayed in the main part of the hotel, in a very beautiful rustic room that provided all the comfort you need. Cleaning was done several times a day, water provided all the time. They also have a beautiful movie-like cigar bar for the smokers. We had an exquisite dinner in the main restaurant. And when I say exquisite please understand that it was above any expectations one could have. In another evening we had the dinner in The Grotte restaurant - that is an experience one could not miss. They even organized for local singers to come and make the evening unforgettable. The breakfast was a minus, maybe because we did not choose the right package or because we were expecting a lot of fresh vegetables on the table and they did not have them listed in the menu. We had to ask several times for fresh tomatoes, they brought a few on the table and than the waiter just ignored us. The attitude of the waiters serving the breakfast was poor: the drinks came late, they did not say if something we order would not be possible to be done, they just ignored the requests. In case you have asthma, as I do, remove the dried decorative plants from the room in order to sleep well.

The worst hotel experience I have ever had. The email thread attached below, which was very unprofessionally answered by the owner's 24 year old daughter, speaks for itself. Definitely not the honey moon experience expected. They have the most careless and inexperienced staff and count with a truly misleading website.
