We had a great experience at El Refugio. The facilities are beautiful, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Marcelo was so gracious when we had an issue with our room, and the new room we were provided was gorgeous and comfortable. The hotel is just a short walk out of town, with easy access to San Pancho as well. We would definitely return!

Little hotel in Sayulita
This is a little hotel that will take your breath away. It has a salt pool, a gym, a kitchen that you can use even a sauna. The staff make you feel at home all the time.

A perfect refuge where I was able to rest, recharge and reconnect with nature. The place was just what I needed and exceeded every single one of my expectations. Everyone else I met here felt the same. This place just has that healing vibe where everyone leaves feeling like new.

Marcel at the accommodations was fantastic. We realize it is a new property and he is continuously working on it. We stayed in the cabin/terrace overlooking the pool. It’s a very neat room, however no sound proofing in walls or doors/windows, since the walls are just boards and the doors/windows just screens. The resident gato is very friendly as well. If we returned to Sayulita, we would stay here again.

El Refugio is a special place, set in a beautiful garden. The location is also great: away from the (surprisingly) busy centre of Sayulita, yet within walking distance. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Marcelo even gave us a lift to Puerto Vallarta. We also appreciate their no waste ethos (which is also reflected in how the rooms are built). The room we stayed in (their smallest, I believe) was charming and comfortable; essentially a tree house.

Overall a below average experience, especially as it cost nearly $200 USD. The room itself was spacious and thoughtful designed, and the pool was heated and very nice. The garden area had nice landscaping. The place was not customer service oriented or particularly welcoming, so the atmosphere was not comfortable for us.

My experience in El Refugio was incredible! It is such a tranquil, beautiful space with super nice facilities. Additionally, the activities and community exceeded my expectation so much. What a beautiful experience, I will be back 🥰 highly recommend!
