Hyatt Regency Long Island

Convenient hotel for business or long island explorations. It's too far from NYC, so bear that in mind if NYC is on the visit plan. Car is mandatory to move around, even travelling from NYC or JFY to here.

There are three elevators and only one was working the whole time and then when we went to use it, we waited 15 minutes and it didn’t come so we had to go down six flights of stairs. One of the ladies at the front desk was so rude I couldn’t even believe she has a job in customer service.

I stayed at the Hyatt regency in Long Island the night before & after my wedding. I got ready here for my big day. The air conditioning was broken and I was hot the entire night before my wedding. The next morning I called someone & they came to resolve the issue. To make matters worse, we had a lot of guests flying in from different states to stay at this hotel, and upon checking in, a lot of the guests rooms were not ready for a while for them to check in, resulting a lot of guests to show up late to my ceremony because the Hyatt Regency was unable to check in my guests at an appropriate time & they couldn’t get ready on time. Terrible! Lastly, upon checking in, they ask for a credit card to charge $100 fee in case of any damages which will be refunded to you when you check out, I was charged 3 times and had to call to resolve that as well. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Not a great experience.

We reserved and paid for a King size room with a view. However, at check in, hotel staff told us they did not have a room of that size available and they only offered us either a smaller room or a refund- no other choice. We were very limited on time so we accepted the smaller room in order to attend an event on time. I meant to reach out to a manager the next day but we were pretty busy and did not follow up. Perhaps it worked out for them- charged us twice as much for a smaller room without remorse or consequence.

There was construction on my floor that started early and was noisy. The walls are pretty thin so the noise from the hallway and the rooms around me were enough to keep me up each night. The shower was also slow to drain. Otherwise it’s a beautiful hotel.

Property was nice, room was clean. My only issue was I called and asked if we could do early check in so we could shower before we had to be somewhere. When I called they told me yes and asked me what time I would be by and I said 12. We got to the hotel a little before 12 and went to check in. The front desk said it would be a few more minutes but we waited for over 30 minutes and the room was not ready. We ended up having to leave or we would be late to the wake we were attending. The room was actually not ready until 45 minutes after the 12 time I was told on the phone would be fine. They didn’t end up charging for the early check in but if I had know a realistic time that the room would have been ready I could have showered and got ready at a family members house instead of wasting time driving to the hotel and waiting for the room to not be ready in time.
