As part of a big family booking (10 people, 6 rooms), I can confidently say this is the worst Travelodge we have stayed in. LOCATION Can’t be faulted as it’s a short walk away from the coast and the town centre. ROOM Though it was your standard Travelodge room, a fetid, drain-like stench had taken over mine. I hadn’t finished unpacking my case when I decided it to be unbearable, and so returned to reception to request a room change. It sounded like the guests in front of me had been told to go out and buy air fresheners, but I got offered a swap. There was a dingy and unclean vibe about my new room, but I simply felt glad to be away from that smell. FACILITIES I only really used the shower, which was fine. FINAL COMMENTS Other family members experienced unpleasant odours in the corridors and rooms, too, and so I contacted Travelodge; they provided a partial refund. This hotel has clearly been in desperate need of a facelift years ago.
