"This hotel in the old town is small but perfectly formed – very convenient, clean, comfortable, and with great service. The shower had excellent water pressure, and the hairdryer was good. Customer service was prompt and responsive; they immediately brought me a plug adapter when I asked for one. There are also lockers in the lobby for guests to store items, along with some thoughtful little amenities available."

"This boutique hotel is modern and conveniently located near the Guangdong East Railway Station. The room is clean and spacious and equipped with a tea set, many bottles of mineral water and a huge TV. The staff are very friendly and they recommended us to the popular places of interest and also must try eateries. The also teach us how to get around using the transport ride hailing DIdi in our AliPay App, which we are not familiar. The underground Po Park Mall is directly across the road and you can find many good eateries and shops there. The subway (Yellow Line One) is also located just beside the hotel and you can use the subway to get to your destination to avoid the huge traffic jams during peak hours. Breakfast has a sufficiently good spread and the dining area is very clean and spacious. There is also a small gym located beside the self service laundry machines. Overall I would strongly recommend anyone looking for a modern and cosy hotel in a convenient location In Guangzhou."

"The hotel's location is great, and the decor is really on point. The hygiene and environment are spotless, and the overall service is excellent. The mini-fridge was well-stocked with drinks. The only downside was breakfast. Many tables weren't set with cutlery. Guests would get their food and then have to wait for chopsticks, spoons, and forks – I've never encountered this before. This issue continued throughout the meal. I hope the restaurant pays more attention to this crucial detail, especially when it's busy and turning over tables for breakfast."

"The hotel is as we remembered - still as classy and elegant, with its stunning lobby and beautifully manicured central courtyard garden. The suite we were upgraded to has been recently renovated to a high standard and there are signs that other parts of the hotel are undergoing refurbishment too (for example, work on the roof) which is a good sign of regular maintenance. A pity though that the breakfast, whilst still brimming with choice and variety, has lost some of its quality. Breakfast at the hotel was, during our last visit, a serene experience we anticipated every morning. On our current revisit, the breakfast room has become chaotic and noisy like a railway terminal, as the hotel appears to gear increasingly towards catering for large conference groups. Tables, hitherto confined to the actual breakfast room and the lovely tree-arbored terrace overlooking the fountains and ponds, have now spilled over into the colonnaded corridors of the garden, ruining both the ambience and lowering the tenor of what used to be an elegant ritual. The calibre of the hotel guests seems to have deteriorated as well, which is a pity for this iconic, historic hotel."

My family and I stayed here for the Qingming Festival. Our room directly overlooked the confluence of three rivers at Baietan, with 270-degree floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views of the Pearl River's nightscape – the glittering lights of Haizhu Bridge, the silhouette of Pazhou Exhibition Center, and the illuminated passing cruise ships, all forming a dynamic urban tapestry. In the mornings, Shamian Island emerged through the mist, and at dusk, the sunset painted the sky in fiery gold. This is an unparalleled scenic advantage within urban Guangzhou. The room masterfully blends Lingnan elements with modern simplicity. Within the 55 square meters, rosewood furniture converses with Italian marble, and the headboard's Canton embroidery pattern adds a touch of understated elegance. The bathroom features a double vanity and a separate bathtub, with floor heating allowing for a relaxing bath while watching TV and enjoying the river view. Notably, the mattress's support system is specially calibrated to meet international standards while also catering to Asian sleeping habits. Our dim sum breakfasts over several days, enjoyed at various restaurants such as the 3rd-floor Flavors, Jade Garden, and Hongtu Mansion, all came from the same kitchen, though the serving dishes and steamers seemed to vary slightly. I highly recommend the classic shrimp dumplings for their refreshing, crisp texture. The tea quality was the best I encountered during my Guangzhou trip. Coupled with the river views from the window, it was the ultimate expression of Guangzhou's lifestyle. Jade Garden's Sunflower Chicken and Sachima remain signature dishes and require advance booking. At a four-figure price per night, it's mid-range among the top-tier river-view hotels in Zhujiang New Town. However, the cultural value-add of the White Swan is irreplaceable – it's not just an accommodation space but a living museum that has witnessed China's reform and opening-up. It's ideal for anniversaries, business dinners, or for experiencing Guangzhou's heritage with elders. If you prioritize purely novel and modern facilities, the neighboring Rosewood Guangzhou might be a better fit; but if you wish to touch the city's memory, the White Swan remains the only choice."

"Poor value for money. For a 500-a-night hotel, the facilities are very ordinary. 1. The view from the window was blocked by signs and air conditioning units, completely obscured and covered in trash. We had to ask the front desk to move us to the 10th floor to get a more open view, although it was still facing dilapidated buildings and completely different from the photos. 2. The fridge wasn't plugged in, and there was no clear indication. We only realized it wasn't plugged in after leaving a cake in it overnight. We then found a notice tucked into a gap in the table saying to save electricity, so the fridge is unplugged by default. 3. The 8th floor had a strong smell of disinfectant. 4. Inconvenient transportation. While not far from the subway station as the crow flies, it's not a short walk. No ride-hailing cars would accept our requests, so we ended up having to take the bus. 5. The shampoo was terrible; my hair felt like I'd washed it with soapy water afterwards."

The rooms are spacious, clean, and tidy, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. The price is affordable, offering great value for money. The soundproofing is excellent, ensuring a quiet night's sleep. It's suitable for both business trips and leisure travel."

"Hygiene: Clean and tidy, with everything neatly arranged. Environment: The hotel's surroundings are excellent! It's very close to the Pearl River, offering views of Haixinsha, and even better, it directly faces the Canton Tower! Service: The front desk staff thoughtfully informed us about a concert on the night of our stay and warned us there might be a little noise, but it didn't affect our experience. The hotel also has a delivery robot that brings takeout right to your room. Facilities: You can tell it has a bit of history; it's an old classic, but still quite good! The hotel also has a restaurant, though I didn't get to try it. Location: It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the subway station, but if you take a taxi, it drops you right at the hotel lobby."

"I chose this hotel because I wanted something convenient for my trip and a reliable brand, so I picked Crowne Plaza. To my surprise, it turned out to be an amazing experience! Perhaps because we had to wait a bit longer, the lovely Umi upgraded our room to the 63rd floor and offered a complimentary breakfast for one day. The view from the room was incredible, and we even got to watch fireworks from inside – absolutely fantastic 👍🏻. All in all, this hotel truly goes the extra mile for its guests, paying attention to every detail. It's definitely worth another visit."
