Goldene Rose Karthaus

Again it’s a dream to be here at the Goldene Rose Karthaus. Food 10/10 Service 10/10 Rooms 10/10 Team 10/10 My 8th visit here and I am back in August of 2026 and of course winter of 2026/2027 Thank you 🙏 Danke!!!

We recently stayed at the Golden Rose with our family. The hotel itself is exceptionally comfortable, with every detail thoughtfully considered to ensure a relaxing stay. What really stood out, however, was the care and attention shown by every member of team we came across; nothing was too much trouble, and the team consistently went above and beyond to make our time with them memorable. We would not hesitate to recommend the Golden Rose to anyone looking for genuine hospitality, comfort, and excellence in every way.

This hotel is really very special. Not only is it beautifully located in a peaceful alpine village, it is the service which sets it apart. Between us, we've travelled a lot but we have never experienced service like it. We had a flat tyre en-route, but the wonderful staff ensured that we arrived in the end and the restaurant was kept open for us...nothing was too much trouble. This was a theme throughout our stay...encountering staff who are friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home. We were humbled by our stay here-we had great service without feeling served. The wooden walkway serves as the transition between high-end hotel and isolate mountain spa that was so tranquil. Breakfast was spectacular...taken on the terrace and presented in stages...from the bread baked on site to lovely bowls of fruit and more. The owners were very present and if all hotels trained their staff in this way, there would be no need for an option of less than 5 stars on Trip Advisor :-) We would love to return.

An excellent base for our hiking and so many walks to access close by . The hotel was amazing . Rooms large and very comfortable with great shower and a good large heating rail to help washing !! and the food across every meal was excellent . ( they have one star Michelin ) . The pool area is fantastic and such a good tetreat after the hiking . The service from all staff is outstanding . Hotel highly recommended

The people who work here put in the extra effort and it pays off. The whole area is really well served - for hikers the signage is great, the views unbelievable (as you'd expect), buses on time and really wonderful places on the way to stop and eat.

The food was rather over fancy for us but always interesting and appetising and occasionally brilliant - the lamb cutlets will live on in my memory! Alex the sommelier was ever present and knowledgable not only on wine but on many subjects! We did a wine tasting with him and saw the wine cellar of the hotel which was expansive and immaculate. The rooms were pristine and very comfortable - with maids coming to turn down the room twice a day with fresh linen every night. My elderly parents were beautifully looked after - nothing was too much trouble - from making us a lovely packed lunch for the onward journey, to creating a special itinerary of local attractions that would be suitable for us. The sauna and whirlpool were equally beautifully looked after. All in all a high quality experience. Thanks so much to every member of the team.

Our stay at this hotel was the opposite of relaxing and peaceful. My husband and I were disturbed to find two men with professional cameras taking pictures immediately outside of our, and other guests’, bathroom and bedroom windows at 8 o’clock in the morning. These photographers, who we later discovered were working for the owners, were clearly visible through the net curtains provided by the hotel as the only screening to the Junior Suite’s floor-to-ceiling bathroom windows. The owners, the Grüners, failed to either recognise the gravity of the situation or deal with it in any meaningful or sincere way. We reluctantly remained at the hotel for the duration of our booking, but only because we were part of a larger party.

Grazie mille for the GREAT HOSPITALITY. Starting from the reception to the restaurant, all the staff was highly professional. Despite the quite formal way to serve me as a client, all the employees were empathetic and nice. Rooms are super cool and sauna as well! Food was AMAZING. Really. Sformatino di Melanzane was very tasty. For wine lovers, you can also have top wines and local choices. This cute resort is in the center of a small but super cool village founded by ancient monks. It’s great for a quick visit or longer hiking. Also, people from the town looked gentle! Looking forward to passing by again!

What a serene and pleasant stay we had at the Goldene Rose in Karthaus. Everything was wonderful and we were extremely well taken care of by the Grüners and their excellent staff. The facilities and food were top notch and the Goldene Rose and the valley are now one of my favorite places on Earth! The only thing I could've asked for more of was time there! I will certainly be back to enjoy more of the tranquility on offer! I can absolutely recommend the sharing menu as excellent and an incredible value and the pairings by Aleksander were phenomenal!
