This inn is gorgeous! From the beautiful historic details restored with skill and kept with care to the luxurious linens and homemade breakfasts you will be impressed with every bit! The location is peaceful. Its oversized side porch, balconies and decks overlook a sweeping lawn down to the ocean. The Inn is within a small town but just a quick drive to Belfast and can’t miss sites. Perhaps the best feature though is the Inn Keeper (and staff). She is kind and helpful and finds the perfect balance between friendly and professional.

spoke to owner to ask for a key as we would be arriving late.owner said she would be up - when we arrived at 2am, no cell coverage to call owner -no key left out or note to say how to get into our room. when we did get into our room there was a loud ticking clock on the wall was a distraction. shower was poor. no breakfast served as we came down after 9am - an offer of fruit and ham was offered not impressed by the offering

This beautiful Inn on the National Historic Register is welcoming. The rooms are well equipped with comfortable beds and great baths. It is a B & B so the breakfasts are out standing. It has comfortable seating areas inside and out with large grounds. The Innkeeper and staff are friendly and give good advise on things to to and where to eat.

Nice rooms, excellent breakfasts and Damn and Deb treated me like family. Was in town to attend a funeral so I wasn't in the best frame of mind, but Damn and Deb treated me like family which went a long way to assuage the blues. Would go back to stay in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderfully relaxing stay at Capt Nickels. Everything was spot on - comfortable & clean room, very tasty breakfast, well-appointed, and welcoming. The house has been beautifully cared for - original features blended with modern comforts are surrounded by antiques which are personal to the home. The view from the bar area is fantastic - even in winter with impending snow, we enjoyed the view. Would recommend and we will be back!

This property is immaculate. Views of the sea sweep one up to the romance of a sea captain’s wife waiting for her husband to come home from his latest voyage. It is a beautiful home and property. Breakfast is hearty and delicious. Dawn is lovely and knowledgeable about the area. Staff are obviously proud of how clean they keep things. This is an idyllic break.

What a fantastic place! We thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay at this beautiful historical Inn. The suite we were in had a large balcony overlooking the massive, well-kept lawn, and the water. Plus on those chilly days there is a fire table to warm up with. The room was spotlessly clean, well-appointed, comfortable and the shower is massive. Everything is done right! The breakfasts were superior and a delight to have every morning. We would highly recommend at stay at Captain Nickels Inn.

We stayed three nights at Captain Nichol’s Inn. As soon as we pulled up in the car we were overwhelmed by the building but wow then we went inside. It is a beautiful place to stay right on the waterfront. Dawn showed us around and explained the services and then showed us to our room. The property was well maintained. Our room was lovely, had beautiful sheets and lovely soft towels also, I know it sounds silly, but good quality tissues and toilet paper. You can walk down to the waterfront and watch the sunset and sit in the seating areas provided and have a drink. There is a Tea/Coffee station available 24hrs a day with some bottled water and cookies. In the morning we went down for breakfast, which was high-quality and presented very nicely. I would definitely recommend this if you want a beautiful hotel and good quality food and service.
