Seattle University District 2-star Hotels

We have stayed in this gem of a hotel at least five times now, and it is consistently excellent. Seattle offers many lodging options, and this hotel has become our favorite. We love this small chain and have stayed in nearly all of them. This Seattle hotel is the jewel in the crown as far as we're concerned, not necessarily because it is the most fancy but because the staff always go out of their way to make the experience a genuinely welcoming one. The pineapple theme is charming, and this particular hotel layers in a fun 60s theme that is upbeat and nicely done. The rooms and lobby are always immaculate, the bedding among the most comfortable of any upper-end hotels, the amenities are appealing without being pretentious. Self-Parking is safe and easy on the premises, creative snacks are offered at the desk, and the rates are among the most affordable for an area that is often challenging. We hope that someday they are able to bring back their breakfast and cute bar. The staff is consistently helpful, genuinely warm, and consummately professional, going out of their way to find ways of making our stay memorable. This particular University Inn managed to do this even in the worst days of the pandemic lockdown when we had to be in the area for serious reasons. We really appreciate the kindness and high quality that the management of this hotel manages to find in exceptional caliber of its hotel staff, especially at a time when so many organizations are struggling to keep even minimum staffing levels. Thank you Staypineapple University Inn! We look forward to coming back whenever possible!

We chose this place due to the price and proximity to the UW Medical center where my wife spent some time. Started with a room that had a shared bathroom which was fine. Bathroom and showers were very clean. Moved to a room with a private bath after 4 nights which was more our speed. The location is great for all things UW. We really enjoyed the Loft upstairs. A nice lounge with pretty full kitchen, communal fridges big tables and the coffee and tea were always on and well stocked. Our rooms were on the 3rd floor and no elevator. Try to avoid the rooms on University Way if you can. Very noisy with buses, cars and trucks. Normally we’d choose an Airbnb over a hotel but having the kitchen was great. Lots of dining options all around. University Village is only a mile walk.

Hotel location is good, the airport is out of the link to the station near the hotel; the room is more spacious, the three of us are quite comfortable; there is a parking lot near the hotel, but they have to pay for themselves, the United States and the country are different, stay at the hotel There is no parking fee; there are many restaurants, cafes nearby, and it is quite convenient to eat.

Room and breakfast - nothing to complain about. Review and rating about hotel service. 1. Because of COVID no automatic room cleaning, need to request cleaning - totally understand. So after 3 nights used Mariott app to request room cleaning. Nothing. No acknowledgment. Next day room not cleaned. Oh maybe it was the 'need 24hr notice' so wait another day. Room still not cleaned. By this time (after #2 and #3 below have passed), screw it - more of a hassle to deal with than worth the effort. Maybe it was the app. We'll never know. 2. Toilet flapper issue notice on day 3. Basically water draining from the tank so need to open the tank up and fiddle with flapper. Called to ask for someone to check toilet next day when we were out. Next day head out and return to room: Apparently no one showed up - toilet in same condition when we left room. Called again. Luckily repair guy was still around and he replaced flapper in 10min. He was the highlight of the hotel service. 3. Ordered room service - just a bowl of soup. ”Room service” means pick up food from front desk -- no problem, totally understand. Person on phone says front desk will call when food is ready. 40min minutes later still no call. I call the front desk on the HOTEL ROOM phone and the guy says ”uhh ... we've been trying to reach you - tried calling over and over. Seems like your phone wasn't on.” And I confirm: ”You mean this phone?” (the hotel phone I'm using to talk to you right now?). ” uhh yep.” Seriously? When we got back home, 900 miles from Seattle, there was a message on my HOME phone that the hotel was trying to reach me because the other phone (connected to the Mariotte app) wasn't picking up. Umm .. why not call the HOTEL ROOM phone, where we are most likely to be given I called in the order from the HOTEL ROOM phone. Why call my HOME phone that is 900 miles away? Also no evidence of call from hotel on my cell phone. Expected just a little more from a $260-a-night room hotel.

We stayed here before our Alaska Cruise and had a very good experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Rooms include a mini fridge, Keurig coffee maker, iron, and safe. Dove bath products are provided. Hair dryer is attached to the bathroom wall. The front desk staff were so polite and professional at every interaction. We did pay for the package that included breakfast at Toast and Toast restaurant next door to the hotel. Food was good and generous portions. Coffee is not included so take a little cash with you. Short walk to the Space Needle. Upon check in, we signed up for the shuttle to the cruise port for $10 a person plus tip. Driver was on time, very friendly. Although we did see a few homeless people, we never felt unsafe.

The room is small, the toilet basin and shower are separate, not very convenient. In the morning, the coffee in the lobby is free; the bottled water in the room is for money, there is free water downstairs, and I pour water downstairs. The road at the door is noisy. The lobby is hard rock style

The location of the hotel is very good, the surrounding environment is also very safe, the parking lot is charged, 37 US dollars a night, I booked a room without breakfast, so I don't know how to breakfast, we will set the room for two big beds, So there is no need for a bed, the location is very good, there are no tramps around, where to go

Make sure you compare your credit card charges to your actual reservation charge prior to checking out. My credit card was charged $210 more than what my total reservation was. I didn’t know why the difference was so much. When I went to check out, I was told it was for high speed data charges. I have an unlimited phone plan. I don’t need to be connected to the hotel website. When I connected my netbook, I made sure to select the free Wi-Fi. The hotel receptionist told me they would take the charges off my bill which they did. As a Marriott Bonvoy member i rec'd a message to check in to my room. I checked in on the app and requested an early check in and extra towels. When i got to the hotel, the receptionist was okay but not warm and welcoming. i did not receive early check in and no extra towels. This doesn’t matter to me as much as being overcharged but Corporate Marriot should not be sending emails or messages to its members offering early check in or other requests if the local hotel cannot provide such things. Overall i had a good stay, and i would have rated this hotel 4 circles but they lost a circle b/c of the overcharge. The location of the hotel was good, a 10 minutes’ walk from Westlake station. The room was a bit smaller than other Residence Inns' i stayed at but still good. Kitchen was nicely equipped. The room had a closet and dresser. The shower was great. Good pressure and hot water. Beds and towels were comfortable. What was a bit annoying was the way the lights worked in the room. The master controls the lights in the entire room. It is also connected to the nightstand so if you charge your phone, the power will shut off in the middle of the night! I woke up a couple of mornings to phone not charged 100% and wasn’t sure exactly what it was. The lights have some sort of motion detector thing which shuts off the power at night. I finally figured it out and was able to adjust the nightstand light. The breakfast was good but the area of the breakfast cannot hold the amount of guests this hotel has. Within 30 minutes many of the items available were gone. Replenishing took a little bit. The hot water used for tea had a slight coffee taste. What would add to the breakfast would be peanut butter. They had jams, cream cheese, jellies, butter, but no peanut butter.
