"I booked two rooms with my parents, a family of four. They were on the second and third floors. The receptionist took our passports and registered but ignored us. No one helped me move my luggage. Because there is no elevator, especially since the two elderly people are over 80 years old, they didn't ask us. They didn't greet us when they saw us in the morning, which is a downgrade in service in a Japanese hotel. There are two bathing areas. There are several corridors in the main building, where there is a small outdoor area. No bath towels are provided. We ate in the room at night, which is more private, but the meals for the two days were average, especially the second day, which was cold food. There is a shuttle bus every hour, and it costs about 2,000 yen to take a taxi back. The view outside the window is good and the room is very spacious, which is an advantage."

"We stayed for 2 nights at the end of March. The main plus is the location: the hotel is literally right next to Nagasaki Station, which is convenient for transfers and generally as a base for exploring the city. There's a tram nearby, shops, everything is very compact. We were given a room on the 7th floor in the new building, typical for the Toyoko Inn chain: small, but clean and functional. It has everything you need, without anything extra – a good option if you plan to do a lot of walking and just come back to rest. This isn't the first time we've encountered the fact that, among all hotels, the soundproofing is probably one of the worst; you can hear the road even on the 7th floor, but it's generally bearable. The breakfast is simple, Japanese style: rice, soup, basic side dishes. Not a huge selection, but enough to start the day without having to search for a cafe. The staff were friendly, but their English wasn't very good (luckily, we had no problems with a translator), and they helped us send our suitcases to another city. Overall, this isn't about atmosphere or design, but about convenience and predictability. It's a good value-for-money option if location and basic comfort are important to you."

"It's located on a pretty steep hill, and there isn't much commercial activity around. You'll need to take a bus to get into the city center. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel, conveniently named after the hotel itself. Make sure you get off at that stop; getting off even one or two stops earlier will mean a steep climb. It's not far from the summit of Mount Inasa, and there's a direct bus. If you miss the bus after enjoying the night view, a taxi back to the hotel is only about a 5-minute ride and reasonably priced. The hotel's own free rooftop observation deck is absolutely amazing, and enjoying a drink and the night view in the lounge is also very pleasant. There's a shuttle bus service from the hotel to Nagasaki Station. There's also a hot spring (onsen)."
