Travelodge Melksham

★★★ 8.6 (41 reviews)

"We stayed for just one night in two rooms which were both exceedingly clean and comfortable with the car park close by. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay overnight and would be very happy to use this travel lodge again in the future."

"Breakfast was good. The room was clean but the bed was very narrow maybe 4 feet double opposed to 4.5 feet."

Travelodge Devizes Hotel

Travelodge Devizes Hotel

📍 London Rd, Devizes
★★★ 8.2 (40 reviews)

"Easy to find. Good carpark. Great welcome. Lift, which we hadn't seen in travelodge before. It has 2 floors, which was new for us too. Nice room, carpets looked new, clean. Good beds, very high. Comfortable cotton bedding. Good lighting, making possible to read in the night, not disturbing much the other persons. Some effort for sorting out recycling waste. Next to the Travelodge, simple eating: subway, greggs, a kebab... On the minus side: poor phone/data signal. Which made contacting the reception by phone at arrival impossible. Fortunately, other guests arrived just after us and had a better connection from outside the building so the desk was attended very quickly. Wi-Fi free 30 minutes only in travelodge. Pillows a bit thick, no choice for a thinner one. Window only open a tiny bit, for security. The main annoyance was the closeness of the main road, busy on a Sunday evening, in the night around 4am, and the morning. If you are not one to take your earingaid off during the night, use something to block the sounds. Or, pay for choosing a room at the back, and avoid the south side when very hot. It was OK for us, the heatwave was over. Thanks for a lovely night on our way."

Travelodge Melksham ★★★
"Visited due to a half marathon in Bath. Clean and tidy, great amenities nearby (Starbucks, Greggs) and welcoming staff. 1 star off because shower was very small and some marks on walls, but nothing that would ruin a stay. Overall a good experience and would use again!"

The Moonraker Hotel ★★★
"Our stay at this hotel left us feeling a bit underwhelmed. While I wouldn't go so far as to say avoid it entirely, I can't recommend it or see myself returning. The room, advertised as having a king-size bed, disappointingly turned out to be a double. Despite the hotel's emphasis on green choices, the room was unbearably warm upon arrival. We had to open both the windows and the door just to cool it down. This lack of basic comfort seemed counterintuitive to their eco-conscious branding. Furthermore, small but crucial amenities were absent, such as a hairdryer, and some lights weren't working. The absence of an in-room phone meant there was no easy way to request these missing items, adding to the overall inconvenience. The breakfast experience was equally disappointing. The so-called buffet consisted of a small, albeit pleasant, continental breakfast. However, being asked immediately upon arrival if we'd like to pay an additional £10 for a cooked breakfast made the setup feel misleading. At £14.50, the continental breakfast alone did not feel like good value.  The restaurant also had a notice about a £2.50 charge for menu amendments. While I understand the principle of upcharges, this particular policy felt excessive and off-putting. These issues were compounded by a lack of personal touches that form the foundation of good customer service. No one asked at checkout or during breakfast how our stay had been, a small but impactful gesture that could have mitigated some of our disappointments. In hindsight, I feel I overpaid by about 20-30% compared to the value I received. Knowing what I do now, I likely wouldn't have chosen this hotel for our stay."

The Hollies Inn ★★★★
"The first floor is a restaurant & pub, and the guest rooms are upstairs. The two bedrooms in the suite we booked have ample space, but the stairs are narrow and it is a bit difficult to move the boxes. It is probably the liveliest place in the town, with many people coming here to chat and drink at night. The breakfast is really great, very generous, the bacon and mushrooms are super delicious (the ones I had later were not as good as the ones here) 👍"
