The County Hotel ★★★
"Great clean comfy room and very pleasant people to look after our needs, nothing seemed to be a problem, breakfast was superb and a great choice of extras. Bed was very comfy and the room was warm, facilities in the room were great the shower had a good pressure and good towels"
Philipburn Hotel, BW Signature Collection ★★★★
"Lovely quiet hotel with the best breakfast I've ever had. Beautiful local ingredients cooked to perfection. So big we didn't eat again till dinner. The homemade steak and ale pie was like vely, full of tender meat and really took some finishing. My wife's fish and chips were cooked to perfection"
The Glen Guesthouse ★★★
"Stayed at the Glen Hotel with my 2 teenage children. The triple family room was spacious and the beds very comfortable, a double and 2 singles. The bedding was excellent and just what we needed after a very strenuous day. The shower room is compact but the water hot and plentiful. The in room refreshments were generous with biscuits for all and enough hot chocolate not to cause a dispute. The breakfast was excellent. Requests made the night before meant the table was laid with the juices and drinks we wanted and the best cooked breakfast I have enjoyed in a long time arrived promptly. We needed to leave at a specific time and the owners made sure there was no delay over breakfast. I stay in a lot of hotels around the country for my children's sporting events and The Glen Hotel was a lovely retreat to recharge for the next days competition and leave with a really lovely breakfast inside us. Thank you"
The Gordon Arms Restaurant with Rooms ★★★
"Absolutely lovely place for our Anniversary weekend. If you’re a foodie like we are, it’s a must. This historic inn dating from 1750 is in the beautiful Yarrow valley, between Selkirk & Peebles in the Scottish Borders . The rooms are comfortable, cosy & so quiet. Looking out over the surrounding green fields whilst the swallows wheeled around the rooftops was magical. With a choice of Tasting menu or a la carte, the quality & presentation of the food is excellent. Breakfast in the morning was just right with perfect scrambled egg The team at the Gordon Arms is so friendly - we felt at home right away."
