Residence Antares ★★★

📍 Str. Meisules, 195, Selva di Val Gardena

"It’s a well-located hotel for skiing with clean and comfortable rooms and nice lobby areas and great view from the private sauna post skiing. But the hotel missed the mark in several ways and i wouldn’t come back or recommend to friends. - parking is not included if you book through trip.com but you learn about it when you check out. - very inflexible booking (we tried changing booking for same dates but with different rooms and they were being so unreasonable and inconsistent. They left such unpleasant taste) - hotel layout is very confusing and cumbersome when carrying so many equipments - given the layout i suggest someone in the hotel helps arriving guests find their way in and out. - you feel very nickle-and-dimed for using the amenities in a hotel like this one. For example the sauna, parking. And you have to book to just use the pool. There is washing liquid but no dishwasher tablet. Small details but made a bit of difference for my experience. - front desk service felt inconsistent. Some were very helpful and some were very cold."

Linder Cycling Hotel

Linder Cycling Hotel ★★★

📍 S.da Nives, 36, Selva di Val Gardena

"Our second hotel in the Dolomites was the Linder Cycling Hotel. It's a fairly large hotel with an underground car park, a swimming pool, and a sauna. The heated pool, though small, was lovely. The breakfast was excellent, with a chef seemingly preparing the dishes, and the service was great. Both the bread and cookies were delicious. Overall, we were very satisfied with the meals, facilities, and room condition."

Hotel Portillo Dolomites 1966'

Hotel Portillo Dolomites 1966' ★★★★

📍 Via Meisules 65, Selva di Val Gardena

"If you are people who like trekking, the location of the structure is very good since it is about half an hour from many Dolomite passes. Fabulous indoor pool, clean and very large. The outdoor one is a little small for the amount of people it can accommodate but still very clean. Another positive note: upon our arrival we had a free drink plus aperitif. Now I move on to the sore points. The hospitality of those who manage the structure needs to be reviewed, very friendly in appearance but almost to the point of seeming fake. The proof was that upon our departure they did not even greet us even though we had passed in front of them. As for cleanliness, let's draw a veil over it. Our room was literally dirty, carpet with food residues left by those who had previously occupied the room and what in my opinion is very serious, the bed linen had not been changed upon our arrival. The bed was full of hair and fur; whether they were from previous guests or from those who take care of cleaning I do not know, the fact is that the bed linen was not clean. As for the general cleanliness, let's forget it, we spent a week with the windowsill of our bathroom dirty because it was never cleaned by those responsible. Given the price that this structure requires, I believe that cleanliness is one of the fundamental things and absolutely not to be underestimated. It's a shame because overall the structure is very beautiful and quite renovated but I certainly wouldn't go back."

📍 S.da Nives, 11, BZ, Selva di Val Gardena

"We are currently sitting at the hotel bar, and marveling at finding Hotel Granbaita. This place is simply fantastic. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the property is first rate. Our room was beautiful, with great amenities and views. The staff was beyond helpful arranging hiking and biking tours, and the hotel is perfectly located. We weren’t sure what to expect because we stumbled onto this property doing online research, but it is an absolute gem. Don’t miss it!"

Hotel Somont

Hotel Somont ★★★★

📍 Via Ciampinei 34, Selva di Val Gardena

"We arrived at 7:00 pm and were immediately given our rooms, which was appreciated after a long travel day. We had one larger room and one smaller room, but they were quite similar in size. Both were on the first floor and included balconies. We reserved garage parking for €10 per day, which I strongly recommend. It is absolutely worth the cost, especially in winter conditions. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. One set of windows has automatic blackout shades, while the other has traditional curtains. I need complete darkness to sleep, and I had no problem making the room fully dark. The shower is small but sufficient for an adult. Water pressure was strong. One evening, after returning from après-ski around 7:00 pm, we had cold water for our showers. After that, we assumed it is better to shower earlier in the day. In the mornings, we had no issues with hot water. Breakfast is very good and includes everything you would expect from a ski hotel. The only things missing were an espresso machine and made-to-order egg options such as omelets or fried eggs. The coffee served is American-style filter coffee, average to my taste, no almond milk, but they had oat and soy type milk. The ski room is excellent. Each room has its own private heated locker, which keeps boots and gloves warm and dry. There is also an elevator that takes you up with your skis directly to the blue slope. Ski-out is convenient, although we were not initially guided on the best way to reach the main Ciampinoi lift. One option is to ski down the blue slope from the hotel to the gate and then walk about 300 feet, roughly seven minutes, to the gondola. On the third day, we discovered a better option: taking two T-bar lifts that allow you to ski directly down to the gondola without removing your skis. You only need to take your skis off if you are heading toward the Costabella lift to access the orange Sella Ronda trails. Ski-in is slightly less convenient. You take the Ciampinoi 5 trail and then an older three-person chairlift that brings you back to the blue slope leading to the hotel. For intermediate skiers and above, both ski-in and ski-out are very manageable. Another highlight is the wellness area. The indoor pool is warm and pleasant, though on the smaller side. Next to it is a jacuzzi with water jets and air bubbles. However, during our stay, the jacuzzi was cooler than the pool, approximately 65°F, which was surprising. The sauna area is the real standout: there is a steam room, a dry sauna, and a large 90°C sauna, all very well maintained. They also provide dried fruits and two types of tea, which you can enjoy in the quiet relaxation room. The hotel is very close to the popular après-ski spot Stua, which runs from 3:30 to 6:30 pm, and about a seven-minute walk to the center of town. One final note that reflects the level of care from the management: as we were checking out and already seated in the car, ready to drive away, the general manager ran outside and"

"Excellent hotel! Our local driver even said it's the best four-star hotel in the area. The dinner was surprisingly delicious. The restaurant staff, however, were a bit difficult to communicate with. For two mornings, my son didn't want to get up, and they kept trying to charge us for a takeaway breakfast, which only got resolved after we clarified that our four breakfasts were included. The hotel pool is a bit small, but it was empty first thing in the morning. The self-service laundry is a bizarre 200-meter walk away and there's only one machine. Someone who arrived after me was still busy with it, so I ended up waiting an extra 50 minutes. Poor guy."

Boutique & Fashion Hotel Maciaconi - Gardenahotels

"We were rebooked from the Grand Hotel Wolkenstein to the Hotel Maciaconi because renovations were taking place there. We received an upgrade to a better room. The hotel immediately impressed us with its stylish decor; everything seemed to have been recently renovated. The wellness area is very modern, larger than expected, and consistently clean. The breakfast buffet offered a wide selection, and the evening menu was very tasteful and full of interesting creations. The only thing missing for a 100% recommendation is more attentive, friendlier, and better-trained staff in the restaurant. The waiter assigned to us seemed rather unmotivated, didn't speak a word of English, and had obviously received little training, which led to things like dessert being brought while we were still eating the main course, or the cutlery being set out for a change. We visited at the beginning of the summer season; hopefully, this will improve over the course of the season; it would be a shame if this small point stood in the way of a 100% recommendation."

"Absolutely spectacular setting. We were pinching ourselves and gawked at the views over and over again. Louisa is a wonderful host. Good food. Fresh pastries in the morning. Large portions of traditional breakfast. Room was a little tight and pillows were terrible, but otherwise a very pleasant stay."

Freina Mountain Lifestyle Hotel Hotels in Selva

Freina Mountain Lifestyle Hotel

"Great hotel for the perfect blend of warm hospitality, location, and amenities. This family-run hotel in the Sellaronda ski area is an absolute find. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and attention to detail that only a family-run hotel can provide. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the Dolomites, with easy access to the ski slopes, making it an ideal base for exploring the Sellaronda circuit. We did the half board for the week since after full days of skiing our preference is to have dinner at the hotel. Each night dinner quality, service and variety were perfect. After a day on the slopes, the wellness area was a perfect retreat. From saunas to relaxation spaces, it was a great way to relax after a great day of skiing. Overall, this hotel combines the best of family-run hospitality with high-quality services and an unbeatable location."

ArtHotel Anterleghes - Gardenahotels Hotels in Selva

ArtHotel Anterleghes - Gardenahotels

"ArtHotel Anterleghes, located right on the main road halfway between Santa Christina and Selva, is a small hotel (27 rooms) that heavily emphasises its “artistic” character, but few pictures and sculptures, as nice as they might be, are not enough to give a real artist’s atelier vibe and, particularly, can’t hide some evident shortcomings in the design and layout of the hotel, with rooms on the ground floor facing directly on the road, forcing to keep the curtains always drawn to have some privacy, while the restaurant and kitchen are on the first floor, right next to some room and accessible from a bedrooms corridor. More in particular: Rooms: nicely decorated and of acceptable size, they unfortunately lack tea/coffee/water facilities and adequate toiletries (limited package available only upon request). Food & beverage: nice and rich buffets for breakfast and dinner, although no description was available, but no English/savoury breakfast options and only a set menu for dinner, without alternative choices or vegetarian options. Excellent patisserie for the afternoon snack but without any savoury option. In general, the quality of food varied a lot, with some dishes very well cooked and presented and others definitely not. Portions tend to be on the small size. Wellness: small spa but nice, with all the appropriate features of 3 saunas (infrared, bio and Finnish), 1 steam bath, 2 jacuzzis and 1 ice room. The limited size (comfortably max 2 persons laying down, 4 seated) can become though a problem when more guests are visiting. The wellness corner is poor, with only tap water, few apples and only 1 type of tea, without any choice. The gym is minuscule and ski room is too small as well and connected to the spa area. Service: staff tend to be kind but we noticed some shortcoming, particularly in the cleaning (vacuum looked very superficial and the level of soap/shampoo/conditioner dispensers was not consistently checked, forcing to repeatedly ask for refill). Ski shuttling is available but only to 2 ski lifts and timing can be erratic, in addition to the fact that the wrong contact number was provided by the reception. No enquiry was made about possible food allergies/intolerances. All in all, we were disappointed by the hotel and regard the 4-star ranking as too generous. Not recommended."

"An absolutely fantastic family operated hotel, with real class and history. Great service all around, food was really good and location worked well. Definitely would go again. Staying in a suite with a roll-away: note the roll-away is really not suitable for people over 170 or 70kg. Primarily for youths."

"We stayed for a week with 2 kids in this wonderful hotel. First I would like to mention good points about this property, because there are quite a few. The hotel is newly renovated in an impressive way. The design, smart architectural solutions, the quality of the materials and the furniture in the main areas are of the very high standards. The reception staff was very professional, helpful and friendly. We stayed in an old room (there are also new suites), but it was still well maintained, clean and spacious for our family. The beds are very good, the sleep quality is excellent. The only thing I missed was a proper, not broken make-up mirror and a good light in a bathroom. You can rent the skies and other equipment at the hotel and it went very smooth. The shuttle service is also very good. The bar and the lounge area are very inviting, the barmens were professional, friendly and the bar was well-stocked. Spa area (saunas) are very good, the quality of the massages was excellent, but I have a feeling they are understaffed (booking a day in advance was not possible). The pool area was OK, but it felt that its a bit outdated. A few essential aspects though must be improved to match the ambition of one of the few 5 star hotels in the area. The FOOD: the quality of the food during a dinner was not consistent. Some dishes were good, others were bland, sloppy. The buffet was diverse, but sometimes I had a feeling the dishes were prepared a day before. The breakfast was good. We've also noticed that there is a lack of a senior staff in a dining area. Comparing to other hotels of this level, where the cooperation between the kitchen and the dining service staff is a well-oiled machine, here it is not the case. It takes some time to fix that."

Hotel Alpenroyal - The Leading Hotels of the World ★★★★★
"My initial booking at Alpenroyal was between 06 December to 18 December, 2024. But come September, I wanted to shorten my stay to 4 nights, from 14 December to 18 December, 2024. For that modification of shortened stay, Alpenroyal forfeited all my 900 Euro down payment deposit. Because an appointment already been made earlier with my regular fellow skier friends and their family to meet in Alpenroyal between 14 to 18 December, I have no alternative but to pay 500 Euro new down payment to stay the 4 nights. I have been meeting and getting together with these 3 families every December in Alpenroyal since 2016, except during covid times. I must highlight to all potential guests who are considering staying at Alpenroyal that I am a 6-Time Returned Guest of this hotel. Yet Alpenroyal gave me zero consideration in guest loyalty. Alpenroyal did not want to consider returning even 1/3 of my down payment. Note that my stay in their hotel was not cancelled. The date was merely modified. It was shortened from 12 nights to 4 nights within the Same Booking Period, which is 1/3 of my initial stay. I eventually spent another 1,614 Euro + 112 Euro during the 4 nights, much to my chagrin. Thus, if you decided to pay any down payment to Alpenroyal, please be alerted that you will not get any of it back. Please read this hotel cancellation terms before committing your payment to them. The other hotels in Dolomites offer 30 days free cancellation, but not Alpenroyal. Down payment to Alpenroyal is non-refundable and the owner of the hotel is very adamant about it as you can see from my experience. Having lost 900 euro even as a regular guest, I certainly would not come back to this hotel. After sharing with my 3 friends and their family how Alpenroyal conducted their business hospitality, all of us decided to explore other hotels in Selva Val Gardena, Ortisei and Colfosco next winter."
