📍 Via Meisules 65, Selva di Val Gardena

"Really good location just outside the main section of Selva but within walking distance or the cars going to the various mountains. The hotel lobby has very comfy seating, especially the veranda area. Fantastic and friendly staff who never seem to stop, well done to everyone for making our stay so pleasant. Couple of issues with rooms, no air con and no kettle for a coffee on the balcony. Other than that, spa was amazing, pool incredible and breakfast just what you want before a day in the mountains. Thank you"

Hotel Somont ★★★★

📍 Via Ciampinei 34, Selva di Val Gardena

"We arrived at 7:00 pm and were immediately given our rooms, which was appreciated after a long travel day. We had one larger room and one smaller room, but they were quite similar in size. Both were on the first floor and included balconies. We reserved garage parking for €10 per day, which I strongly recommend. It is absolutely worth the cost, especially in winter conditions. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. One set of windows has automatic blackout shades, while the other has traditional curtains. I need complete darkness to sleep, and I had no problem making the room fully dark. The shower is small but sufficient for an adult. Water pressure was strong. One evening, after returning from après-ski around 7:00 pm, we had cold water for our showers. After that, we assumed it is better to shower earlier in the day. In the mornings, we had no issues with hot water. Breakfast is very good and includes everything you would expect from a ski hotel. The only things missing were an espresso machine and made-to-order egg options such as omelets or fried eggs. The coffee served is American-style filter coffee, average to my taste, no almond milk, but they had oat and soy type milk. The ski room is excellent. Each room has its own private heated locker, which keeps boots and gloves warm and dry. There is also an elevator that takes you up with your skis directly to the blue slope. Ski-out is convenient, although we were not initially guided on the best way to reach the main Ciampinoi lift. One option is to ski down the blue slope from the hotel to the gate and then walk about 300 feet, roughly seven minutes, to the gondola. On the third day, we discovered a better option: taking two T-bar lifts that allow you to ski directly down to the gondola without removing your skis. You only need to take your skis off if you are heading toward the Costabella lift to access the orange Sella Ronda trails. Ski-in is slightly less convenient. You take the Ciampinoi 5 trail and then an older three-person chairlift that brings you back to the blue slope leading to the hotel. For intermediate skiers and above, both ski-in and ski-out are very manageable. Another highlight is the wellness area. The indoor pool is warm and pleasant, though on the smaller side. Next to it is a jacuzzi with water jets and air bubbles. However, during our stay, the jacuzzi was cooler than the pool, approximately 65°F, which was surprising. The sauna area is the real standout: there is a steam room, a dry sauna, and a large 90°C sauna, all very well maintained. They also provide dried fruits and two types of tea, which you can enjoy in the quiet relaxation room. The hotel is very close to the popular après-ski spot Stua, which runs from 3:30 to 6:30 pm, and about a seven-minute walk to the center of town. One final note that reflects the level of care from the management: as we were checking out and already seated in the car, ready to drive away, the general manager ran outside and"

Hotel Antares

"Excellent hotel! Our local driver even said it's the best four-star hotel in the area. The dinner was surprisingly delicious. The restaurant staff, however, were a bit difficult to communicate with. For two mornings, my son didn't want to get up, and they kept trying to charge us for a takeaway breakfast, which only got resolved after we clarified that our four breakfasts were included. The hotel pool is a bit small, but it was empty first thing in the morning. The self-service laundry is a bizarre 200-meter walk away and there's only one machine. Someone who arrived after me was still busy with it, so I ended up waiting an extra 50 minutes. Poor guy."

"A few minor flaws (missing glasses in the room, the outdoor spa was turned off, and the safe didn't work), but otherwise, everything was fine. The rooms were well-soundproofed, and the breakfast and dinners were excellent (a heartfelt thank you to Claudio and Cristiana for their kindness and attention)."

Romantik & Family Hotel Gardenia

"We were a group of seven, a mix of family and friends, on a skiing trip to Val Gardena, and the experience was outstanding. The hotel is located just 150 meters from the Col Raiser ski lift, and you can ski almost all the way back to the front entrance, which was incredibly convenient. Ski storage is well organized, with personal lockers that include heating for boots and gloves, a small detail that made a big difference after long days on the slopes. The gym is well equipped and had everything we needed, and the hot tubs were perfect for relaxing in the afternoons. We stayed with breakfast and dinner included, and the food quality exceeded expectations. Dinner was a four course meal every evening, consistently excellent. Our host, Carmelo, was exceptionally kind and professional. He went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable and well taken care of. He provided especially thoughtful service to my wife, who is pregnant, ensuring that all meals were completely pregnancy friendly. On our departure day, despite our early morning checkout before breakfast hours, he made sure we had breakfast and water bottles ready for us, which was very much appreciated. We rented our ski equipment from Intersport in St. Christina and received a 10 percent discount through the hotel. On departure, we simply left the equipment in the changing room, and Intersport collected it the following morning, making the whole process effortless. We truly could not have wished for more. Everything was perfect, and we would happily return."

Hotel Miravalle Hotels in Selva

Hotel Miravalle

"We just returned from a week at Miravalle Hotel, travelling with family and friends, staying respectively in Rooms 302 (Suite Tirolese) and 201 (Suite Blu). This hotel style Chalet is situated on top of a small hill, allowing guests to ski-in/ski-out directly from the modern, well-equipped ski lockers. Each locker has heated sticks for boots, together with bathroom facilities and a direct private lift using your own key card room to get in and out. ROOMS: Our two Suites had large balconies with stunning South/West views of the village and mountains, with plenty of sun (when the weather is good, which was the case when we stayed there). The suites had plenty of wardrobes/storage which came helpful when traveling with families. The beds were comfortable, with a sofa bed for our teenagers. Bathrooms came with plenty of towels changed every day, and additional SPA towels to use in the pool and sauna/steam room which you dispose of in the SPA area and they are replaced every day in your room the next morning. The hotel also provides shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion, replenish every day, but we brought our own so we didn't use many of these. The rooms were also equipped with an undercounter fridge which was very helpful to store our water, etc. While Miravalle doesn't provide a so-called "Mini Bar" in the room, you will find a local supermarket, Despar, just an 8 minute walk away, where you can get anything you need to store for your week skiing. SPA/POOL: The SPA area is quite stunning. It occupies an entire floor, which not only consists of a beautiful indoor/outdoor pool, but also offers several treatment rooms, two saunas, steamed room, relaxing room with water beds, herbal tea & water facilities, and so on. I had 3 treatments during my stay and my teenage daughter booked one too, and the therapist made everything possible to bring a relaxing experience. Such a treat after a day skiing. BREAKFAST/DINNER: We booked the "Half Board" basis for our week. The buffet breakfast is plenty, from Italian cured meats to fresh fruits, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, cheeses, Italian cakes (so delicious), croissants, all sort of breads, cereals, teas (from the normal English tea to a large selection of very healthy tea options), coffee, etc. They cater for everyone and it is impossible to leave hungry. Now, when it comes to dinner time, the Hotel Miravalle certainly didn't disappoint: not only we had a "starter buffet" every night, which consisted of Italian cured meats (in all different sorts), cooked vegetables, potato salad, artichokes, balsamic onions, beetroot, and the list doesn't end, but all of this also included a four / five course dinner on top to follow, such as an Antipasti, First Course, Second Course, Cheese Tray, and Dessert. Every night differed and you only had to select your next dinner menu on the following morning, choosing between several options. Since we travelled with a child suffering from severe nut allerg"

"Location: 7 Beautiful hotel located at the beginning of the village. In front of the hotel there is a road behind the forest. Several paths start from the hotel, one of which leads to the village of Val Gardena (10 minutes) and one to Ortisei (1 hour). Superior room: 7 Spacious room with a beautiful view of the mountains, but also of the road. Luckily it was quite soundproofed so you could hardly hear anything. The only artistic thing in the room was a painting. The wooden furniture is beautiful, it's a shame about the carpet which clashes a lot. Amenities: 6 Small and minimal gym as is the spa (accessible only from 3pm to 7pm). 2 outdoor heated hot tubs, one on the playground side (there is a jumping net, a foosball table, a pin pong table and a pool table), the other where there are sun loungers with a beautiful view of the stone. The pool on the park side was full of insects (flies and bees). A Turkish bath and several saunas, one of which is scented but in which you can't lie down because they are small. Upon arrival, I asked if they could put some hard pillows in. They said they had, but in reality they changed them for softer ones. Breakfast: 8. Wide selection of both sweet and savory options, with the option of getting a juice extract (I always look for it on the breakfast buffets). Lunch = snack: 6. They say 3/4 or full board, but in reality, there's no savory buffet, just sweets and fruit. Dinner: 6.5. The buffet options are very good, but the menu is fixed, so if you don't like what they choose, either don't order it or try asking for variations. We've always limited ourselves to not ordering certain dishes, except for the fish dinner. I had to request a separate menu because I don't eat it."

"Excellent hotel, lovely rooms, friendly staff, yummy food. We stayed with a group of friends to ski Sunday - Saturday and it was a terrific experience. Very comfortable bed, WONDERFUL shower, fabulous sauna/steam facilities. We dined together at a large table at the end of the restaurant each morning and night. The only slight downside was the menu didn't change very much each day, however the food was delicious and the service was fantastic. The breakfast buffet has many options and the chef is happy to make eggs just for you if you'd prefer. The pastries were excellent. The ski locker room is handy and once you figure out how to ski back it's very conveniently located. Highly recommend."

"We stayed in a family room for four with two children, and it was very comfortable. The room had a fully equipped kitchen with a dining table, making it easy to prepare meals. There was also a supermarket within a 5-minute walk, which was very convenient. The kitchen included everything we needed, including dishwashing supplies and paper towels. The swimming pool requires advance booking and each session lasts 60 minutes. You can collect the keycard to access the pool 5 minutes before your reserved time. The pool was fantastic, with a waterfall, water jets, and a jacuzzi. Our kids absolutely loved it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

Hotel Portillo Dolomites 1966' ★★★★
"If you are people who like trekking, the location of the structure is very good since it is about half an hour from many Dolomite passes. Fabulous indoor pool, clean and very large. The outdoor one is a little small for the amount of people it can accommodate but still very clean. Another positive note: upon our arrival we had a free drink plus aperitif. Now I move on to the sore points. The hospitality of those who manage the structure needs to be reviewed, very friendly in appearance but almost to the point of seeming fake. The proof was that upon our departure they did not even greet us even though we had passed in front of them. As for cleanliness, let's draw a veil over it. Our room was literally dirty, carpet with food residues left by those who had previously occupied the room and what in my opinion is very serious, the bed linen had not been changed upon our arrival. The bed was full of hair and fur; whether they were from previous guests or from those who take care of cleaning I do not know, the fact is that the bed linen was not clean. As for the general cleanliness, let's forget it, we spent a week with the windowsill of our bathroom dirty because it was never cleaned by those responsible. Given the price that this structure requires, I believe that cleanliness is one of the fundamental things and absolutely not to be underestimated. It's a shame because overall the structure is very beautiful and quite renovated but I certainly wouldn't go back."

"The hotel is very convenient for skiing, with spacious, clean rooms and a lovely heated pool area, but the big disappointment was the food. It was the end of the season, but in a 4-star hotel, you can't expect to find a few pieces of pre-sliced cake, a single type of empty, frozen brioche, two pieces of stale tart from days before, four pieces of pancakes for breakfast—nothing was replenished; you had the impression of having only a few leftovers from the previous day. The evening buffet consisted of a few raw vegetables, a few slices of cheese, and three grilled vegetables: peppers, zucchini, and eggplant—the same ones every night, never a variation. The young waitresses lacked empathy, rushing the dishes without saying a word or even a smile. The manager was very cold and rude; as soon as we arrived, she rushed us to choose our dishes from the menu without even giving us time to read it. Even the dinner dishes weren't up to the standard of a 4-star establishment, with few typical dishes, nothing reminiscent of Easter, not even a little egg on the table, and an inedible lemon sorbet for dessert... we definitely don't recommend it!"

"Despite a few imperfections (the cocktails were overpriced, lol), this was a special place to stop for a few days. The pool is SO MUCH FUN. I also really enjoyed the gym. It was big, lovely to be in, and well stocked. We had dinner in both restaurants and actually enjoyed the simpler one more. It had a KILLER salad bar, easily my favorite meal of a week+ trip. Breakfasts are delicious, too. No regrets!"

Hotel Tyrol ★★★★
"We had an excellent stay at Hotel Tyrol during the February half-term. Travelling as a large group of 10, we were very well accommodated. Location & Convenience The hotel is perfectly located, just a 30-second walk from the first pommer lift, which connects to the Dantercepies cabins (on the Sellaronda route). There is also a ski bus right outside the hotel for the Ciampinoi cabins. There is a ski rental shop conveniently next door. The ski room is excellent, with individually heated lockers for each room. Rooms Our rooms were spacious, with ample storage for luggage and ski gear. Each room had a balcony, offering lovely views, and the well-appointed bathrooms were kept clean throughout our stay. Food & Dining Breakfast was fantastic, offering a buffet with fresh fruits, cereals, Bircher muesli, and an array of cakes. A hot breakfast was cooked to order, served promptly, and delicious. We also had dinner at the hotel multiple times, and every meal was a great experience. Facilities The wellness area is a highlight, featuring indoor and outdoor pools, spa facilities, and a sports centre equipped with two treadmills, an elliptical machine, and a variety of weights. For families, smaller children can enjoy the ball pit area and ping-pong table. My only gripe is that the table football requires coins—at this price point, I would have expected it to be free. Bar The bar is great and well stocked. While the live singer every night added to the atmosphere, it might not be necessary every evening. The staff was very friendly. Overall, a wonderful experience, and we would definitely return!"
