the room was extremely noisy. i thought the window was open when i arrived because the traffic was so loud and the room was on the 8th floor (the highest non-smoking floor). i switched rooms on the 2nd day so i was away from the traffic noise, but the sound is even worse on the other side of the building because of the exhaust fans, so i paid extra to move back to the side with the traffic.
i started taking my morning supplements with water in the lobby and the manager said no eating and drinking. i tried to explain to him that his adherence to his rules was overly strict and he just walked away without replying. so i put my water and supplements away and sat there quietly. i even walked outside in the rain to drink a sip from my water bottle, and after i sat back down in the lobby, the police showed up. the police explained to me that there's no eating or drinking allowed, which i didn't do after he asked me once to stop. i think the manager was just trying to take out his anger on me. 1 of the police even apologized for his behavior. they should've charged him for wasting their time and taxpayer money.
the hotel was mostly clean. there's a york supermarket and aeon mall ~1.4km away and closer stores like donki that sell food & drinks. i implore you to choose a different hotel so you don't get tinnitus.o
