Acube Hotel Dongdaemun Reviews

Located in the Dongdaemun district, the hotel is just a minute’s walk from a nearby seafood market & across Travelodge hotel. The surrounding neighborhood has a few eateries and attractions, but it requires some walking to reach Dongdaemun History & Culture Park. The stretch from Euljiro 4(sa)-ga Station to the hotel is lined with shops selling doors, faucets, and other household items, along with the usual convenience stores like CU, GS25, and 7-Eleven. Myeongdong is fairly close—just two train stops away (a 5–6 minute ride). Bringing luggage can be challenging due to the lack of escalators in the station and the approximately 10-minute walk to the hotel. However, we found exits 7 and 8 particularly useful, as they remain underground, providing shelter from rain or snow, and lead to street level with less than a one-minute walk to the hotel. The hotel was overall clean. Although it was supposed to be spring during our stay, the weather was highly unpredictable, with temperatures ranging from 1°C to 10°C. The AC control was a bit confusing—while the translation was understandable, only hot air came out regardless of the temperature setting. After contacting hotel management via WhatsApp, we learned that during winter or cold weather, only the heater function is available, so we had to open the windows slightly to regulate the temperature. The hotel provides UK-style sockets, and the toilet seats are heated (a nice touch!), but the bidet function wasn’t fully operational—only the female bidet setting worked, so adjustments were needed. The tea was particularly good, and they replenished it daily, except on our last day when they didn’t provide more. Laundry is available above the 8th floor, with 2 washing machines & 2 dryers. Both machines requires 1000 Won coins & a machine to change paper notes. Staff are available from 9 AM to 11 PM, so plan accordingly. For assistance or information outside these hours, you can contact them via WhatsApp, Line, or KakaoTalk. Overall we had a good stay, clean, friendly & helpful staff. Locality was ok but if you want instant access to eateries & other POIs maybe you’ll want to reconsider.

A small room. But everything in the room is working fine. Room still looks new. Very near Euljiro 4 station. Nothing much around hotel. Most eating and shopping were done near around hongik Uni station. This Acube hotel is near Baiton Hotel. There is a bus stop next to Baiton hotel. We took bus 6001 dropped off at that bus stop. On our last day, we went to the same bus stop, waited for bus 6001, boarded it and went to Incheon Airport. (Oh, it is a loop service). Each way costs 17,000won. Very convenient!

Avoid. This is a "motel" type accommodation (but not with a car). It's round the back of a fish market and in what appears to be a bathroom hardware district full of shops selling toilets and lighting fixtures. It's not at all vibrant or meant for a foreign tourist. The surrounding area is dead, I got there in the evening and there aren't any restaurants or shops or anything so I went to bed hungry. It's not really a dodgy area or anything, just not one for nightlife and it's not where a tourist should stay, so if you are one, then I wouldn't recommend. Room was a good size though. I had issues with security as multiple times there were signs people had been in my room despite me putting "Do Not Disturb" on the door, which is concerning - such as the attached photo where I found a hairtie on the floor my room when I returned to it, despite being a male with short hair and not using such things.

One of the most complete hotel I ever stayed in Seoul. Room is spacious, there is sufficient space to open up four of our 28” luggages and yet we still have plenty of walkways. The housekeeping team is another plus point added to the stay: New set of amenities (4x towels, 1x toilet roll, 4x toothbrush kit, 4x bottled water) will be placed at your door everyday. The common area at ground floor are cozy and comfortable, they also provide basic such as cutleries, plates and napkins which make it more convenient. We had a small celebration for my brother birthday and loving the ambience there. We really enjoyed our stay here, and would love to be back for the next trip. Kudos to the management team! ❤️

The place was clean, everyday they fix the room. Easy access to transportation. Near to restaurants.

The room was big enough and clean, the service was good (cleaning and towels were provided every day). Overall good hotel and service, the receptionist could also speak english.

Specious room compared to some other options. Within walking distance to attractions and transportation.

The room is small and it takes 20 min walk to Dongdaemun wholesale mall. But it’s very convenient to take the airport limousine which the bus stop is near the hotel.

Acube Hotel was perfect for our short stay. Located close to subway line 2 Eulji-ro 4 (see picture for reference of neighborhood), connected to all places of interest and Airport Railway. Room was clean, with all amenities. Check in was fast and easy, check out even easier. It was one of the few places that would accommodate our family of 5 for a fair price. I’d consider it again if ever going again to Seoul.

My experience staying at this hotel was not very good. Since I was arriving late, the hotel informed me that I should use the self-check-in machine at the entrance. However, when I arrived, they didn’t tell me that they had already pre-arranged my check-in. They had placed an envelope with my room code at the entrance. If someone else had taken that envelope, wouldn’t they have been able to enter my room freely? The most disturbing part was the housekeeping staff in the morning. They kept knocking on my door repeatedly, asking if I needed cleaning, and even opened my door without permission. On the third day, when I was supposed to check out, I had requested a late checkout in advance and received approval from the front desk, with an additional fee. However, the housekeeping staff were not informed about this. They kept knocking on my door and even entered my room again. I explained to them that I had permission for a late checkout, but they repeatedly told me in English, very firmly and forcefully, that it was not possible and that I had to check out immediately. Overall, this was a terrible experience! The hotel did not even offer a single apology and just ignored the whole situation.

Very good location, close to the subway station and by walking distance to Dongdaemun Design Plaza. The staff were polite and helpful. The room is small but cozy. You need to use code to enter your room (no key).
