Koreana Hotel

The biggest plus of this Seoul hotel is its fantastic location. Deoksugung Palace, Gwanghwamun, and Gyeongbokgung Palace are all within walking distance, and if you're up for it, even Myeongdong and other commercial areas are reachable on foot, making sightseeing a breeze. Coming back to the hotel at night and gazing at the bustling city lights outside the window creates that classic, old-school hotel vibe straight out of a K-drama, with a touch of 'old money' sophistication. There's also a large Paris Baguette nearby, which is super convenient for grabbing breakfast or coffee. The room size is quite spacious for a Seoul city hotel. We paid around 600-something per night for our two-night stay, and the hotel even upgraded us, which significantly enhanced our overall experience. While the facilities do show their age a bit and aren't brand new, if you appreciate that vintage charm, you'll find it quite appealing. Considering the price, space, and location, the value for money is excellent. I'd very likely consider staying here again on my next trip to Seoul.

They put me in a room right next to the laundry room, and the washing machine was running 24/7, making so much noise I couldn't sleep. When I asked to change rooms, they said there were no rooms available, even though there were clearly many check-outs. The only alternative they offered was a windowless room, which obviously meant they weren't willing to switch us. They just fobbed me off with earplugs. It felt like they were deliberately picking on us Chinese guests. The lobby hygiene was terrible, as shown in picture one, and the faucet drain was so bad that the sink filled up when I washed my face, as seen in picture two. It was a super bad experience; I will never stay at this dump again. Absolutely terrible, terrible, terrible!!!!!

This hotel is really convenient if you're planning to explore central Seoul. Gwanghwamun, Deoksugung Palace, the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History, and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art are all within walking distance. It can get a bit noisy when there are events happening in the plaza though.

It's just okay. The hotel is a bit old, but the service was decent.

Overall, I'm very satisfied. Even though it's an older hotel, the facilities are well-maintained, and the location is absolutely fantastic. Compared to American hotels, the breakfast is pure heaven! The value for money is also outstanding. Highly recommended!

The location is fantastic – it's quiet despite being in a lively area, and super convenient for getting to Myeongdong, Lotte, and Shinsegae. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel for airport transfers; the 6701 airport limousine bus takes you directly to the airport in about an hour. Plus, there's a 24-hour convenience store downstairs. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place to family and friends.
