"My stay at Hotel Monika in Sexten, Dolomites, completely redefined my expectations of a mountain getaway. The blend of professional hiking support and luxury relaxation was seamless. [Perfect Logistics for Hiking] To beat the crowds, we headed out early to tackle the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. The hotel’s support was incredibly thoughtful—they provided hiking sticks for rent and packed us a generous "breakfast box" (ham and cheese sandwiches, yogurt, apple, and water). Having a picnic surrounded by those magnificent mountain views was a highlight of the trip. It took all the stress out of our morning adventure. [Ultimate Relaxation: Mountain View SPA] Returning to the hotel after a long hike, the SPA facilities were pure bliss. We were lucky to enjoy the outdoor 40°C hot tub and sauna in the afternoon with almost no one else around. Gazing out at the Alps while soaking in the hot water offered a level of serenity that reminded me of the best high-end onsen inns in Japan—incredibly therapeutic. [Overall Impression] The hotel’s facilities are modern, and the half-board dining experience was excellent. If you are looking for a base in the Sexten area that perfectly balances professional hiking convenience with high-end, comfortable relaxation, I cannot recommend Hotel Monika enough."

"I had a wonderful stay at Berghotel Sexten. Everything was truly on a high level – from the beautifully designed rooms to the excellent service and attention to detail. The staff was professional, friendly, and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. The food was outstanding, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was relaxing and luxurious. "I usually don't write reviews even though we travel a lot and have visited 40 countries. But for this one I really feel I have to. Me and my wife stayed there for four nights. Upon arrival we got help with our baggage by house keeper (Guliano) and that was only positive thing at arrival. He was really helpful. We reserved junior suite romantic room and got a renovated suite with a view on gondola station which you can hear inside, worth 513€ with dinner??? (I will come to that) per night. For me to spend romantic and active short holidays with my wife that was unacceptable so I asked for a room with a better view. We got a room in old part of hotel (same price) but with better view. Room was spacious and ok. Nothing special and definitely not romantic. And now a dinner, which is being advertised as a kind of surplus. You are offered a choice of starter and main course from a menu of two or three options. You can take the dishes from the buffet before serving the dishes on the menu. There are quite a few dishes and extras, and they are quite tasty. When you finally decide and can hardly wait to see what you will get from the menu you have chosen, disappointment follows. All the dishes on the menu that we ate all four days were below average and disappointing. The only bright spot in the service are the waiters Mirko, John and Ylenia. Thanks to them for their kindness. A word about the spa. Even though it covers 2,500 square metres, it can be very busy and crowded. In short. For the money, I would have liked a better room and, above all, better food. I hope next time we will choose better elsewhere."

"Very nice and comfortable bungalow, during the week the spa area is with little people, so it was perfect, not so during week-ends. The restaurant was very pricey for the service. One waitress was very helpful and friendly, our server not so much, actually a bit rude. I asked a rare stake and it was almost well done. For this kind of prices I expect almost perfection !"

"We stayed in the Villa Rainer in the Betulin Family Apartment. This corner apartment has great views and lots of natural light. Barbara and Alex were wonderful hosts. Being there in October is a great time with fewer people and lovely fall colors. It was an easy short walk to the village. The hikes here are beautiful and easy to access. I highly recommend the Villa Rainier."

"We stayed in a group of 50 people for 4 days. Nice facility. Panoramic location. Staff were friendly enough but lacking in hospitality. Any serious negatives? The spa is located in the basement of the annex. You can imagine that at -10°C, walking 30 meters in slippers and a bathrobe isn't exactly the best. The downside was the food: breakfast was like a 2-star hotel, not a 4-star. Dinners were appalling. The quality was extremely low and the quantity was very, very low. I've been going to the Dolomites for 20 years, but I've never eaten so badly. Everything needs to be reassessed, starting with the chef and the restaurant staff. I could never return."
