The room was clean and comfortable. The apartment's location is unbeatable, nestled in the best part of Xuhui, perfectly away from all the hustle and bustle. The kitchen is equipped with high-end appliances, and the service was excellent. What's more, even though it's an apartment, daily housekeeping can be requested.

Serviced apartments located in the French Concession area with good access to subway Line 1. Lots of good cafes in the area as well. The apartments are well serviced with amenities, good for families with young children. Swimming pool and gym downstairs.

Ascott Hengshan Shanghai is a great place to stay if you want both comfort and convenience. It’s set on the beautiful tree-lined Hengshan Road, with cafés and restaurants just a short walk away. The apartments are large, clean, and have everything you need to feel at home. The staff are friendly and always helpful, which makes the stay even better. The gym and pool are modern and well-kept, perfect for relaxing or working out. Whether for a short trip or a longer stay, Ascott Hengshan offers a relaxed and welcoming experience in one of Shanghai’s nicest neighborhoods.

Really impressed! I wasn't expecting much, given the hotel has been open for a while, but it was surprisingly great. The room was large, with a kitchen, fridge, and washing machine, making it feel like a true home away from home for our family. The front desk staff were also very friendly. We'll definitely be returning!

A week at Ascott Hengshan Road felt like having a home nestled under the shade of plane trees. The apartment-style rooms truly cater to the needs of longer stays—the open kitchen allows for simple cooking, and a washing machine and dryer are fully provided. Spending weekends lounging on the sofa, watching the plane tree leaves sway outside the window, felt so much more comfortable and relaxing than a standard hotel. The location is absolutely superb; Hengshan Road Metro Station is just a three-minute walk downstairs, making it convenient for getting to Jing'an Temple and Xujiahui. In the evening, a stroll to the nearby old villa district, as the streetlights came on and the shadows of the plane trees danced on the red brick walls, created an absolutely enchanting atmosphere. The concierge staff were incredibly thoughtful, even providing a handwritten list of recommended local shops. My only minor suggestion would be for the bedroom curtains to be a bit more blackout. But overall, it's absolutely perfect for anyone wanting to experience Shanghai at a leisurely pace. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Great home away from home

Excellent service from the front desk staff, who provided so much useful help with ordering things, locating lost deliveries, providing helpful nearby recommendations, couriering last min items etc. Beyond grateful! Hengshan Ascott is a wonderful tranquil serviced apartment set on beautiful eucalyptus tree-lined streets. Super comfortable stay for my family of 6 with spacious rooms, floor heating, large bathroom with both shower and bathtub; also loved the Dyson hairdryer, furry slippers, and Appelles toiletries for that touch of pampering.

Room is large. Gym is good. Superb location. But breakfast is below average.

The location and service are very good. The hardware facilities are obviously aging. The corridors are quite musty. The mattress is a bit soft, and the elderly in the family are not very comfortable sleeping there.

The room was spacious, with practical decor and amenities. Overall, while it's a bit newer than the Ascott Beijing, the lighting and airiness aren't quite as pleasant. The location is excellent, and the area is quiet, even during the National Day holiday. Huaihai Middle Road is a 15-20 minute walk away, making it convenient. There's a shopping district next door, offering a wide selection of Western, Chinese, and bar options, including delicious Cantonese-style late-night snacks. The breakfast wasn't great, so avoid ordering breakfast-included options. Don't miss the Old Shanghai breakfast restaurant, which has a rich menu.

It was my first time staying at the Ascott Apartment Hotel. The experience was great. The front desk service was friendly. I booked a one-bedroom suite and was upgraded to a two-bedroom suite for free. It was a pleasant surprise. The room was well-equipped. Downstairs was the famous bakery on Hengshan Road. I will definitely stay here next time. I especially recommend it to friends with pets.

The facilities are old, but the room is really big. Two bedrooms and one living room are perfect for a family! Parking is free, but the parking spaces are too small. Many of them are basically too small to get out of the car. Breakfast is simple and there are not many varieties.
