My best friend and I stayed at the Jinjiang Hotel for a day during the Lantern Festival, and it definitely gave us a feel for old Shanghai. This was especially evident in the room facilities – the room wasn't huge, but it was perfectly adequate, though the TV was a bit small. All the staff members we encountered were incredibly friendly, and it was nice to hear a lot of local Shanghainese staff speaking Shanghainese, which felt very familiar and welcoming. The greenery around the hotel was meticulously maintained and very pleasant to look at. Plus, the soundproofing in the rooms was excellent, making for a very quiet stay.
