Exceptional service, friendly staff. Spotlessly clean. Great value for money, definitely worth returning. Lovely festive atmosphere and a delicious, hearty breakfast.

Very clean, quiet, and the transportation is excellent. It's especially suitable for business trips and family vacations to Shanghai. You can visit the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, explore Xujiahui – the birthplace of Shanghai's unique 'Haipai' culture. This is definitely a place for both locals and international visitors to stay.

This old, well-established hotel always seemed super upscale to me as a kid, and it was actually on special during the Chinese New Year! The location is fantastic, right across from Xujiahui Library and the Catholic Church. My stay was excellent – it was clean and hygienic, completely free of that musty smell you often find in older hotels. I especially loved the breakfast, particularly the mini wontons, scallion pancakes, beef congee, and waffles. They were all better than what you get outside; I'd seriously consider coming back just for breakfast!

The Jianguo Hotel was one of Shanghai's first hotels catering to international guests, so I initially thought its facilities might be a bit outdated compared to newer hotels. But I was proven wrong! From the lobby to the rooms, everything was well-equipped, clean, and meticulously organized. The hygiene and overall environment were excellent! As for the service, everyone from the doorman at the entrance, to the staff at the front desk, and even the cleaning aunties in the rooms, was well-trained and provided impeccable service. The only area that seemed to need improvement was the breakfast restaurant. On our first day, they ran out of full-fat milk; on the second day, the fruit station was completely empty; and on the third day, tables weren't being cleared promptly even after guests had left, while two young ladies nearby were chatting and laughing. However, these minor issues don't overshadow the overall experience. All in all, my short stay here was excellent. The hotel's location is particularly superb! And in terms of value for money, it's truly high. Therefore, I'll definitely consider this one of my top choices for future visits to Shanghai! Thank you.

The hotel boasts an excellent location in the heart of Xujiahui, with easy access to the subway and bus hubs, making it incredibly well-connected. The only downside is that the hotel facilities are quite old, but it offers good value for money.

This retro hotel offers Japanese-style management (in a good way). The location is excellent, right across the street from Xujiahui Cathedral, though unfortunately, it's closed for visits on Saturdays and Sundays. It's indeed just a one-minute walk from Xujiahui Metro Station, but getting from the station entrance to the actual platform involves a bit of a walk and quite a few stairs. It's fine if you're traveling light. It's five stops by metro to People's Square and three stops to Shanghai South. The facilities are a bit dated, but the room floor was clean, and there's a TV with plenty of channels that doesn't require an internet connection. My travel companion found the bed a bit short. There are lots of dining options around the hotel, and a Brain Computer City (Buynow) right next door.
