Homeinn Selected Hotel (Shanghai The Bund City God Temple)

Walked into a room with urine stench and upon looking around, saw animal hair all over the floor. Seems like the hotel staff don’t ensure that people don’t bring their pets. Thankfully, we got a new room which did not have the pee smell. However, cigarette smell filled the corridors every time we walked along. Room was poorly maintained and cleanliness definitely questionable. Location was ok, quite close to the Yu Garden but still not that convenient for families with kids.

Friendly hotel staff. Location to bund apprix. 15-20 min by foot. Nice oldtown at 5 min by foot. Room had no window as stated on the app

Great location near old temple street. Staffs were great. Rooms were small. Cheap room no window felt stuffy. Check out after one night. Had construction going on during our time of stay. Not great. But staffs were amazing.

On the booking application we booked a room with window. When we arrived the receptionist tried to give us a room with an artificial window (=no window). This is a fake window. It took quite a while for them to realize that they offered it wrong on the app. And still they would insist that a decorative window is a real window. Now they are offering it on the app correctly. In the end and after 20 mins of negotiations we received a room with window. It was not possible to fully close the window because of a broken piece. This made it necessary to sleep with earplugs. Furthermore there are massive renovation works going on from 8am until 5.30 pm. During this time it was absolutely impodsible to rest. They only mention this after completing the check in and did not give a reduction. Location to the bund 20 min by foot. Nice old town at 5min.

Kind stuff, helped me with everything. The room service was good. Calm place, near a lot options to eat, public transport. Will be back.

location is near Yu garden. But not easy to search on google map, and staff not really nice as expected. I asked receptionist to book a taxi for me twice, and both times she refused me with couple reasons, without offering any other solutions :)

The hotel is great, such value for money in Shanghai is unbeatable. In addition, the location is perfect, a 10-minute walk from the Bund. I recommend !

Clean hotel with super excellent service. Note that ROOM A doesnt have window like the picture claims. The first room they gave me was 4 walls so I ask why diff from pic then they said it was FAKE windows. So I opt for that cause it looks better and more spacious. Hot water was on point! No fridge. 10 min walking distance from any Metro. Overall good price point.

The hotel location is very good. Just around 12 minutes walking distance, near Yuyuan Garden, about 15 minutes driving to Nanjing street and the Bund. There is a small mall next to the hotel where you can find some places to eat. Domino Pizza, Mc Donalds, and some local food stores are inside the mall. The staffs are nice and helpful. The hotel even upgraded me and family to bigger rooms so we can have more space since I come with wife and two children. Will stay here again next time I visit Shanghai.
