Overall a disappointing experience for several reasons. I’m not one who usually writes negative reviews or makes lists of issues when I stay at hotels, but there were a few that were difficult to ignore: 1. I stayed on Christmas Eve because we were having the hotel’s brunch the next day. I thought I would have a nice, relaxing morning to wake up and get ready, but instead was awoken to construction work out in the hallway—drilling and hammering that were incredibly loud. Furthermore, the whole room was then filled with the STRONGEST, AWFUL smell of burning plastic that I had ever smelt. Because none of the windows in the room could open, I had to suffer through the smell and try to ready as quickly as possible…not a pleasant way to wake up! 2. The bathroom just wasn’t clean. There were urine and possible blood stains on the toilet seat and floor that I had to wipe away when I first arrived to the room. Cleaning services should do a better job to check the toilet surfaces when cleaning. 3. It’s December and the middle of a cold snap in Shanghai, but for some reason the room was unbearably hot and stuffy. I turned off the heating and even tried to turn on the cold AC but the temperature remained the same. It was difficult to sleep because of how hot and sweaty I was. The windows couldn’t be opened so I couldn’t even get a fresh breeze…

We had a good time in the hotel. Warm welcome and friendly guiding at the checkin. We have been there during Christmas, the decorations was really beautiful. It is just a little surprising that I had to pay the full price for the Christmas market, even I booked the hotel. The room was equipped well and we felt comfortable. What was just disgusting is that we found hairs in the clothes cabinet and a nail on a table next to the bed. The breakfast was delicious and you can get everything at the buffet. What was for me the first time in this kind of hotel that you had to wait to get a table. This could be up to 20 minutes. This should not be and need to be better arranged from the hotel. If the hotel is overbooked than it should not be allowed to let no hotel guests to book a table.

The location is great not too far from the Metro. The porter was very helpful. However, the check-in staff was not that nice. He shouted back to me once I asked why the hotel needed to charge 1,300 RMB. He angrily responded to me that we have to pay as the deposit. I think he should have a better way of communication as this is the reception of the hotel and he could communicate English. In addition, there was no deposit receipt provided. This is very unsatisfied.

I was traveling alone with my 7 year old daughter and stayed here for one night. We loved all the help we got. All the amenities were very convenient for us and all the staff was very helpful. Selene offered my daughter some treats upon arrival and some gifts when we left as well as offered suggestions on where to eat that would be most comfortable for my daughter. Perfect 5nights stay in Shanghai. Excellent location-5mins walking distance to Yu Yuan豫园, 3mins to nearest MRT Station (Yuyuan Station), Family Mart. 10mins walk to the Bund. 2 stations away to Nanjing Pedestrian Street. Room- Excellent design, huge room with seperate toilet(automation toiletbowl) and shower with bathtub, dressing table, big wardrobe to hang coats and big space to put luggages. Spacious Living area. Minibar is free and replenish everyday. Service- Front desk Lily and others staffs are helpful and friendly. All my request were fullfilled. House keeper aunty name 覃爱元 is so nice and polite , she always keep our room clean and tidy! Breakfast-Alot of variety, chinese and western. Coffee is good! Hotel Interior- New , Classy and elegant! Awards winning hotel.

First I booked this hotel for 3 days. Then I rebooked again. This hotel is at a central location. near the bund, famous restaurants at Fu Zhou Ru, Nanjing walking street, and even their Mrt station. All are within walking distance. You can even walk to Jinan  temple. The room I booked was a family room with two beds. Although the room is not that big, It is clean.

Great experience! The location is within walking distance to the bund and nanjing pedestrian street. Everywhere is easy to access by taxi. The service was fantastic and staff were all very welcoming and friendly. We requested to change rooms for more space which were happy to assist us with. Breakfast was great with many options. You can easily order food online and they have a little robot that delivers it to you room. There is a small gym and laundry service as well. You simply drop off your clothes and they can wash and dry, and fold it for you. Very responsive staff. Highly recommend. We would definitely stay here again.

The art deco interior is beautiful, the staff are very helpful, and the hotel is conveniently situated close to the Bund and all the delights of Nanjing Road. My only criticism is the temperature. Even in December, with the windows open, the room was too hot. We had to ask for an electric fan.

Very enjoyable stay! We arrived early in the morning before the scheduled check-in time. Although it was fully booked that day, they have managed to keep the housekeeping process quick to allow us in for a good rest. Before we depart to airport, they even offered us bottle of mineral water to keep us hydrated. Small gestures, but great hospitality. Kudos to the receptionist team. Will definitely be my top pick in next visit.

Rooms getting worn. Forgot to bring breakfast to our rooms on Sunday 23rd January 2023, Chinese New Years Day. When I inquired I was told it was too late as restaurant was now closed. Funny as we had beem receiving a packed breakfast in our rooms on previous mornijgs. This confirmed my suspicion that the hotel is.operating.a policy of keeping foreigners out of the restaurant presumably due to COVID fears and concerns our presence might upset their Chinese guests. How to lose your customers in diffixult economic times!

Ji hotel has great location, right beside daimaru dept store and hongyi plaza. Walking distance to the bund. We stayed at family room (1 double + 1 single). Room is cleaned daily but only the floor, the bed isn’t made at all during our 4 night stay. They only clean the floor and replace towel. Hotel is non smoking but you can clearly smell cigarette smell in the hallway and bathroom. I suspect people upstairs or downstairs smoke in the bathroom. Free laundry in the first floor. Lack of basic amenities (toothbrush must ask the receptionist). Receptionists know little to no English, some are not very friendly.
