It was an excellent stay in all regards. Service. Location and food. I was especially pleased when staff helped organise a surprise birthday cake for my wife - complimentary. Very special. Only one very minor complaint was the breakfast. The hotel cooked very small batches of bacon in the morning having only enough per serve for 1-3 persons and a 10-15minute wait for new bacon. In all the hotels I’ve stayed in I’ve never had such a long wait for bacon. Just a very small thing I would point out, but I would still give this hotel 5stars!

I stayed in the hotel for two days. When I checked in, Lila at the front desk was very helpful and helped upgrade the parent-child room. The children under 2 years old were very happy to see so many toys in the room. The hotel is directly connected to Kaiyuan Mediterranean Commercial Plaza, which has rich options for dining and children's entertainment. It was a great hotel experience. Right from check-in I had such a pleasant experience. The receptionist (Miss Liu 前台小刘) was accommodating and absolutely went out of her way to help me settle in after a 40hr multi-legged trip. I had to double up on coffee to survive the jet lag and the maid Miss Yang (杨水莲) whom I never actually saw in person took note and left me extra bags of instant coffee with a kind note. The hotel is clean and well maintained. Everything works and is of decent quality. I am not certain if the hospitality star systems in China or anywhere are one and the same. Although I suspect Fuyue's 5-star rating is more domestic than the true five star experience one could get from the Waldorf Astoria, the hotel feels luxurious enough for the money. And while it doesn't come with the level of service one normally would expect from a 4-star place in the west, the local staff I interacted with were all pretty helpful. There's a gym and a 25m pool where 6 or 7 people could swim laps comfortably on the second floor. And the Chinese buffet for breakfast was quite amazing as well - there are enough ingredients and plates that one could consider a typical continental breakfast with two caveats: there is no cheese and the yoghurt is watery. I would definitely go back.

Great spot on the river. Room came with tickets to Smurf paradise and free upgrade to executive club access which were both enjoyed! The breakfast is the best we’ve had in China, more variety of fruit, fruit juice, pastries, bread etc and pastries were freshly cooked. Very vast selection, all good quality. Hotel has really nice rooms, new and clean decor, good facilities like indoor/outdoor pool. The service was also better than most other similar hotels I’ve stayed at. 2 things to note ; 1) our room was uncomfortably hot and we couldn’t sleep well, I’m not sure what the issue was but the service was very good. They came up with different solutions and brought us an AC unit in the end. They were very helpful, it’s just a shame it was still too hot. 2) the pool has a weird policy where no spectators are allowed, which I’ve never come across in a hotel before, and I didn’t really understand the rationale. In the 5 minutes I was in there I saw 3 other women sent away who were equally bemused. 1 was accompanying her daughter, who then couldn’t swim as mum wasn’t allowed to stay and watch, poor girl! I just wanted to watch and take videos of my 2 year old playing with her Dad. It was a little disappointing. Anyway, great hotel- we’ll go back.
