Shangri-La Pinecone International Youth Community

I had a wonderful stay at this Shangri-La hotel. The king-size room was great, very quiet and private. The sheets were clean and hygienic, and I saw the cleaning staff tidying up when I checked out. The location is excellent, right next to the Great Prayer Wheel. It was a very pleasant experience overall. The only minor drawback was the soundproofing wasn't great, as there were many international guests staying there. Still, a very enjoyable experience.

Facilities: The lobby and public areas are well-equipped with many activities. The rice noodles for breakfast were delicious, I really enjoyed them. Hygiene: I stayed in a king-size bed room, which was generally clean and tidy. However, there are only two men's restrooms on the first floor, and with many people using them, there was a strong unpleasant odor every time I entered. The small garden in the room looked like roadside weeds. Since there are plants, shouldn't they be maintained with a little care? I didn't notice the ceiling on the first night, but when I woke up the next day, I found something resembling an insect nest there. Also, there were a lot of tiny insects flying in through the gap in the garden door. Mosquito coils had no effect on these small flying insects. Although they don't bite, they were very unsettling to see. The staff said they only appear this season, but we also stayed one night in a hostel within the ancient city and didn't encounter any of these small flying insects.

The facilities are complete, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the soundproofing is excellent. There's a separate oxygen room, and board game activities are held in the evenings. The location is convenient for getting around, with a large prayer flag visible right outside the door. The ancient city is within walking distance, and it's very close to both the high-speed train station and the airport. The service is very attentive; the front desk staff are patient and helpful with any questions. There's also a cat house in the lobby with adorable kittens.

The toilet was incredibly dirty, and the ventilation was so poor that the smell was constantly trapped inside (not the staff's fault, some people just lack basic manners). The overall atmosphere was pleasant, cozy, and relaxing. The service staff were friendly. The location was average, a bit far from the Old Town, but it was nice to have the large prayer flags right next door.

Very disappointed. Dining was inconvenient, common areas were too dirty, and the bathroom was also filthy. The hardware was decent, but the quad room lacked proper luggage racks, so the whole room was filled with roommates' large suitcases and messy clothes. The management is terrible. I won't be staying here again.

My stay here truly exceeded my expectations! The hostel's common area is spacious and has a great vibe, with window seats perfect for relaxing and unwinding. The host is very thoughtful; they've provided several board games in the common area, so guests can play together during downtime. There's always hot water available, and they've even prepared essential medical supplies like cotton swabs and disinfectants, which is very handy for minor scrapes or bumps. The front desk staff are kind and attentive, and they respond quickly to any issues. The overall environment is clean and quiet, with excellent facilities. You can tell the host has put a lot of effort into maintaining the place. I highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Shangri-La!

This hostel is only two kilometers from Dukezong Ancient City, offering a quiet and peaceful location. You'll find beautiful prayer flags hanging at the entrance. Shangri-La has stunning scenery, and this hostel is perfect for backpackers and long-term travelers. The front desk staff are incredibly welcoming, and the cleaning auntie is meticulous and dedicated. Overall, the atmosphere is very comfortable, and it's convenient for getting around and sightseeing. I genuinely recommend it!

First time in Shangri-La, and I stumbled upon this hostel on the platform. I had some expectations, but it totally exceeded them upon arrival! They have a washing machine and dryer, and even free laundry detergent – super convenient. Not having to put on the bedding myself is a huge plus. I'll definitely come back. To anyone visiting Shangri-La, I highly recommend staying here. It's been raining a lot recently, so I'd suggest bringing some warm clothes.
