Perfect place for me, cpsy, warm, ******* style and mostly a very sympathetic owner who was very helpfull and nice. One of those stays that I will always remember with a smile!

This is hostel and dormitory, and it was quite okay to stay. The owner really understand us since we came 5 people and the other guest staying in our room. The owner change the guest to other room. The owner is really good, she managed to arrange our last min plan to balagezong with private car. As for the toilet and bathroom, we need to share with same person on same floor, however it was really clean. We managed to get to know other guests from other countries and make friends. Totally recommend if you want to come to shangrila and didnt care to share with others! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The staff are incredible, they speak English very well and the in-hostel restaurant is delicious. We had the yak burgers and they tasted just like a classic hamburger! The room was clean, the only “issue”came from water leaking into the floorboards of our room but that’s what comes with an almost 90 year old building… it added to the charm 😌 The location couldn’t be better either, you’re ＜5 minutes away from the centre of the ancient city but the hostel is on a more secluded street so the sights and sounds of the busy streets aren’t a problem. Overall this hostel was fantastic for the price point and the atmosphere is very homey, we plan to revisit Shangri-La in the future and the Tavern hostel is 100% our first choice for accommodations again.

Friendly owner and their lovely kids :) I was happy to have Korean food here in 2 week since left Korea 😂 You would get Tibet vibes here! Highly recommend this place for travellers 감사합니다! 2박 잘 묵고 가요 :) 음식 정말 맛있어요~

Beautiful traditional ******* home, the host was friendly and it was so happy to see the host twin son playing around everyday in there. The host speaking english, so it was excellent. The location was superb, since it is not in the busy area but still near the central area of the ancient town. They also served a lot of food and it taste really good.. Gonna really miss this stay!

took public bus from train station and walk 15-20mins to hostel. located inside ancient town. used one day to explore inside ancient town n temple at nearby hill and another day outside the town. its cold there but there’s hot water and heater available. cozy home vibe.

It's an amazing hostel with ******* decorative rooms, clean bathrooms, and a very warm host. Breakfast was ******* and Western, with a large selection of sandwiches, eggs, coffee, and pancakes.
