Songtsam Hotels in Shangri-La

This was a highly anticipated stay! We specifically checked out from the Shangri-La Hotel to experience this brand's unique cultural immersion concept. The seamless coordination by our wonderful butler, Zhuoma, starting the day before check-in, and the private transfer service were impeccable. Upon arrival, the cosmos flowers along the path and the charming wild chrysanthemums in our room were delightful touches. The breakfast and afternoon tea offerings truly embody the brand's distinctive ethos. The quality of the slippers and bathrobes was superb, but what truly impressed me was the incredibly nourishing essential oil soap. The thoughtful drinks provided during the turn-down service were also a pleasant surprise. After our hike, we decided to try the local butter SPA. The unique ******* herbal foot bath beforehand made it an even more special experience. While the price was admittedly not cheap, it was incredibly relaxing and rejuvenating. Even the public restrooms were remarkably well-appointed. We're already looking forward to visiting more properties in the Songtsam series!

Location was brilliant however it was abit dusty due to the renovation. It was convenient to not drive up to visit the temple as we can just walk there with tickets provided. - breakfast was good - front desk service can be improved but driver and those who worked at the restaurant was brilliant. - we wanted to order dinner at 8pm from the western restaurant but was told that it’s closed even though we were told that the last orders is at 9pm. - not really worth the money. But it is teh founder’s house and we had a lot of fun looking at the antiques in teh hotel.
