GGuest UserThis is a very typical rural B&B, with a restaurant on the first floor and guest rooms on the second and third floors. The B&B is located in a village at the entrance of the scenic spot. Parking is allowed and pets are allowed. It is about 500 meters away from the former residence of the elders and the Bronze Statue Square. The owner's service is warm and the room is clean. The facilities are simple and outdated. The bathroom did not provide bath towels and there was no shower. The bedding may be too basic and make a twitching sound when you turn over. In Shaoshan in March, the temperature at night was very low, so I needed to turn on the air conditioner, but the sound from the outdoor air conditioner was loud, like a tractor. When I turned off the air conditioner, the same sound came from the outdoor air conditioners in other rooms, and the quilt was a little thin. Great choice for light sleepers. It’s okay to just pass by on a self-driving tour and stay overnight.

GGuest UserThe couple running this renovated traditional home in Mao's home village are very attentive to guests' needs, even on the busiest day of the year, December 26th, Chairman Mao's birthday. My partner was coming down with a cold and got some ginger soup to drink. Additionally, when we screwed up our schedule and almost couldn't make our train out of Shaoshan, with no train available to reschedule, the couple arranged for the husband to drive us to the station for little more than gas money. It's up a slight hill from the other inns and allows one to get a bit of peace and quiet, again, even on the busiest day of the year, when Shaoshan is very worth a visit for anyone interested in Mao Zedong's legacy, given the number of Chinese people who show up to sing, dance, wave various flags and give speeches. Don't make our mistake and schedule the Chairman Mao memorial hall for a full visit instead of rushing though it. The exhibit is full of pictures and dioramas and has English captions for most things.
I also wish we'd had time to explore the pagoda on the hill behind the guesthouse.

The boss changed us into a triple room, which was comfortable and comfortable. GGuest UserStayed in a room in the main building. The hotel is in a good location, close to South Railway Station and not far from Shaoshan. The hotel facilities are good and the layout is very charming. The waiters were all friendly and the service was attentive. What impressed me most was the enthusiasm and thoughtfulness of Manager Li Xiu.
The food in the restaurant is delicious and the prices are relatively affordable, especially the restaurant on the second floor. The hotel is equipped with a swimming pool, which can satisfy those who like swimming and stay near Shaoshan. There is a gift shop downstairs for convenient shopping.
The disadvantage is that the hotel does not have a washing machine, which is still a traditional hotel practice. There are also no laundry bags for dirty clothes, but rudimentary plastic bags are provided.

The 1.35-meter twin bed is not too small to sleep on, and the bed is soft enough and comfortable. The toilet is also big enough, with dry and wet separations. It is mainly clean and hygienic, which is really good.

The price of 2/3 hundred is really a conscience price. The space is also very large, very satisfactory. The lady at the front desk was also very welcoming, which was really nice. Very cost-effective. GGuest UserIt is very close to the city hall. There is a relatively large supermarket nearby, which is very convenient. There is a Hunan restaurant next to it, which tastes good! The facilities are a bit old, like home decoration from more than ten years ago, European furniture, but the color of the velvet on the bedside has changed. There is no bottled water in the room. You can boil water at the tea machine in the corridor. The door handle of the bathroom shower room is broken. There were black spots inside the quilt. Because it was raining, we turned on the air conditioner to remove the moisture. We asked the staff to change the quilt and they said it was dust blown down by us turning on the air conditioner. Fortunately, it was replaced later.

There were mosquitoes at night, and the hotel prepared the original mosquito coil, but there was no match. At 10 pm, the bar turned around and the black light was blind and no one was found, so it was useless!

The room was clean and hygienic, and the boss was very enthusiastic to teach us travel guides and precautions. He also helped us book a discount ticket for the evening performance ”Most Memory of Lushanchong 〞, which is much cheaper than online.
