My Family and I were attending a Wedding and had a 1 night stay at Holden House Shardlow. We would all highly recommend. Its in a beautiful setting on the Riverside also a canal runs alongside with a Heritage Museum barges and lots of wildlife. Rooms very comfortable and beautifully decorated with all facilities. Hosts very accommodating and knowledgeable about the surrounding countryside. Breakfast 10/10. Hope to stay here again in the near future. A big Thankyou to you both for the personal touches.

Stayed one night at Shardlow in the lovely Holden House. We chose this property after reading excellent reviews on Trip Advisor and were delighted with our stay. The room as expected was a little small but was immaculate and clean. Breakfast was delicious and we loved our short stay. I would highly recommend this property!

Fantastic welcome, really felt at home here. The room was beautifully decorated and was spotlessly clean. Would definitely recommend Holden House to anyone wanting to stay in the area. Wish we here for longer to explore the area in more detail .

Will be returning
Came to stay for one last decent sleep before download festival and it didnt disappoint. Beautiful scenery overlooking the canal, the owners were very friendly, breakfast delicious and the room was so cute! Will be returning again next year

Beware the black cat of the next door neighbour. I only tried to stroke it on the head then all of a sudden it turned viscious I just got a scratch then ran away. But it does not run away like 99% of cats it just sits there encouraging you. So today extreme heat warning is why I did not book the very expensive prices here.

Almost perfect!
Pretty solid B&B. Friendly and welcoming host. Clean and comfortable. Lovely location, just a shame it was in the middle of a storm so couldn’t appreciate the area.
Was upgraded to a slightly bigger room. Only real downsides for me is there was no desk or chair to work at and was asked to check out half an hour earlier than the booking stated.
I would return, but would also appreciate a veggie/vegan breakfast being offered.
