Holiday Inn Express SHENYANG TAWAN by IHG

Staying at this hotel for my trip, most of the experience was satisfying. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, making for a relaxing stay. I was pleasantly surprised to find complimentary flower tea and ice cream at the front desk, which was a nice touch. The downsides were limited parking, making it hard to find a spot if you arrive late, and long elevator wait times during peak hours. The surrounding area offers convenient access to food, drinks, and entertainment, and the hot water in the room was consistently good. These minor issues didn't detract from the overall positive impression; the service was excellent, and the price was reasonable. It’s definitely a place to consider for your travels.

The environment and hygiene are good, but the Wi-Fi is weak. The transportation is convenient, and there's an old-fashioned ice cream stand on the first floor, which brings back childhood memories.

This is a great hotel, very close to the Tawian Xingshun Night Market, just a 5-minute walk downstairs. The breakfast is also very good, and the front desk even offers free drinks and Zhongjie old-fashioned ice pops.

The moment I walked into the room, there was a strong unpleasant smell, and the facilities were very outdated. The TV picture quality looked like it was from another era. Many floors above the hotel are apartments, so taking the elevator was like riding a public bus – getting down was a real hassle; you'd often have to wait for two or three lifts before you could get on. The underground parking was also quite something; there were signs everywhere saying they weren't responsible for vehicle damage. It makes you wonder how bad the security is. The funniest thing was a row of signs stating 'no surveillance cameras.' Since they offer parking services, why can't they install a few cameras? Is that how irresponsible they are? Plus, there weren't many parking spaces, definitely not enough. Most importantly, the hygiene was terrible. There was hair all along the walls, and a big fly was buzzing around. When I pulled back the duvet, there was more hair – not just long ones, but also those short, coarse, curly hairs, if you know what I mean.

Stayed for three nights in Shenyang, and the hotel stay was very comfortable. The only minor downside was the lack of a subway station nearby, but getting around Shenyang by taxi is incredibly convenient and quick, making it easy to reach any destination. The restaurants next to the hotel were also delicious, and the hotel breakfast was excellent!

The room size was adequate, but it was a bit dirty. In the first room, there was a long hair on the bath towel, and the bathroom in the second room wasn't cleaned properly. The elevators were a huge bottleneck; there were only three for about 20-30 floors, and they were centrally controlled, so you'd wait forever.

The hotel's decor is outdated, and the facilities are severely aged. The carpets have a strong odor, and the towels are tattered. The overall hygiene is concerning, especially the public restrooms on the first floor, which were absolutely unbearable and a terrible sight. Parking was a major issue; the underground parking was severely insufficient, and the above-ground lot was located within a residential complex, forcing us to park on the roadside where there was no management. When I called the front desk for assistance, the staff member was unhelpful and extremely impatient, showing a complete lack of professionalism. The elevators are small, incredibly slow, and there are only three of them. During peak hours, the wait for an elevator was excessively long, especially since they are shared with office building residents and businesses. The hotel lobby entrance was also chaotic, with delivery scooters parked haphazardly everywhere. All of these issues are seriously inconsistent with the hotel's brand image.

To summarize: This hotel is perfect for couples and families. It has pretty much all the facilities you need, and the price is great. We stayed on the 14th floor, which was very quiet, and we slept soundly. The bed was large, and the air conditioning and hot water were strong and plentiful. The breakfast had a wide variety of options. Overall, it offers excellent value for money. Pros: The overall price is relatively stable. There's a convenience store and small restaurants downstairs. Nearby, you'll find Tawan Night Market, Wanda Plaza, and Xinyuehui, with a supermarket located downstairs at Xinyuehui. The subway station is about 900 meters from the hotel. In the lobby, you can get free bottled water, popsicles, and tea bags, and also store luggage. The bathroom in the room was large and spacious, with no unpleasant odors, making for a very comfortable sleep. Cons: The elevators during peak hours are a major issue. There are only three passenger elevators, plus one service elevator, each accommodating 10 people. The building has 33 floors, and floors above 18 are talent apartments. During morning and evening rush hours, you often have to wait for several elevators, compounded by delivery drivers rushing to deliver food and packages. During the peak summer season, check-out times were late, and we didn't get to check in until nearly 2 PM. Some rooms still had a faint smell of smoke. I suggest regular non-smoking treatments and designating non-smoking rooms.
