A very good hotel. The owner is very kind and enthusiastic. He told us which attractions are worth visiting. The hotel is located in the center of the main island. The scenery is very beautiful. It is close to a supermarket and a gas station. There is also a small shop and a fish and chip shop. There is also a takeaway Chinese restaurant very close by, but the taste is an improved version from abroad, closer to the ********* one. However, I recommend the hotel’s lunch and dinner. You can tell the boss what you want to eat, and the boss will prepare it very carefully. , we didn’t know it at first. After communicating with the boss, the fish meal and chicken meal prepared by the boss were of course made according to our requirements. They were very delicious. Of course, the boss would not cook Chinese food, but the curry rice and other dishes prepared by the boss were very delicious. Tourists said it was delicious because we like to eat light food. The taste is similar to Michelin. The hotel bed is soft and comfortable. Among them, the facilities were negotiated with benefits. We went to see the Aurora. The boss also told us where is better to see it and which website to check for warnings. This hotel is warm and like home. I recommend everyone to book this hotel. However, in summer, you must book three months in advance, otherwise there will be no Location.

The Brae hotel is situated in a beautiful area of the Mainland with a well stocked Co-op nearby and also Frankie’s fish and chips, which was amazing. Sadly the call of fish and chips meant we didn’t try the restaurant but breakfast was so good and generous. Two of everything - including black pudding! The two lads cooking and serving were incredibly friendly and efficient. A great start to the day. The room was large and had everything we needed, including a fridge (all hotels should have mini-fridges!). It was spotlessly clean with a large bathroom and hot, powerful shower. One moan - the entrance is up a number of steps that were all scattered with tab ends. Not a great look as you arrive and easily rectified! Sadly we only had one night here. Would stay again if in the area.

Our 5 Night stay at the Brae Hotel was quite nice and comfortable. Our 6 year old child made friends with nearly all the staff. They were very helpful and accommodative in many ways, tending to our every need. Brae Hotel is in a beautiful area and is situated in a very ideal location. It is in middle of Shetlands & very close a Co-op. We were very pleased with the Quality of Food served. The Restaurant was kept neat and clean. Initially the only room available was a double, was a bit small we thought. The staff went out of there was to provide us a big room with a Gorgeous view. Hats-off to them. We would like to thank Tiffany, David, Blair, Andrea & Callum for all their help and assistance. They have a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and success. Thank you.

The staff at the Brae Hotel make this a wonderful and relaxed place to stay. Mornings are a treat with Scott and Curtis’s radiant smiles, great music and delicious cooked breakfast. Its central location making it easy to access all the Shetland Islands has to offer.

We stayed a couple of nights here as part of a coach tour party. Our room was spacious with comfortable beds, and a good en suite bathroom with shower over the bath. Being a large party, we had to order our evening meals in advance of our stay, but they were excellent, as was the breakfast. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. On our final night we enjoyed some live fiddle music in the big function room. Bar prices were very reasonable. Interesting to see many of the Jarls’ shields from Up Helly Aa around the walls of the lounge/reception area.

Very convenient location in Brae for accessing different islands north-south-east-west to walk. Comfortable room; tasty, hearty breakfast included. Dinners are also tasty and hearty. Staff very professional, helpful and friendly. Lots of hot water. Would stay here again.

We requested an easy access room, because my partner has limited mobility, when booking 2 months ago. The hotel has no lift and we had to walk up 2 flights of stairs. Staff said they had no ground floor rooms left, despite our having booked 2 months in advance. The WiFi service in our room was very weak and unreliable. Breakfast was good. Overall, we felt the hotel was overpriced and not good value for money.

We could not find a minus with this Hotel from the friendly reception which included David to the excellent food and service at breakfast with Curtis and Scott. I know they are only part of this very helpful team that welcomed us to northern Shetland, but we wanted to give them a shout out for their attitude to their work.

Solo travelling around the Isles in a camper van, a treat is required now and again, comfy bed, clean room, fantastic shower, and a great breakfast. Ideally located ,frankies fish shop, coop for a fridge refill and petrol station on the front. Would I stay again, I'm not sure , prices of the hotels are quite high here, and the rooms don't reflect the prices paid.
