Gori is a small town that I like very much. This hotel is probably the best one in the area. It has new decoration and good service. Although the room is not big, it gives people a very comfortable feeling.

There is really nothing special about the city of Gori, except for the Stalin Museum. We drove down from Kazbek and stopped by to rest for a night. The breakfast is really average and the service staff in the breakfast room are rather indifferent.

Although this hotel looked very grand on arrival, in actual fact we found it the worst we stayed in during our Georgia and Armenia trip. The staff were unfriendly, uninterested and sometimes quite rude. The hotel is huge and it feels unwelcoming, bordering on clinical - you are just another number. The room was not clean and the bin in the bathroom had not been emptied. The breakfast buffet had a large choice but nothing to get excited about. It is also situated out of town. The only positive for us was the free wine tasting which was generous. It depends what you are looking for, but certainly not our cup of tea!
