We recently stayed at Shilla Stay Gwanghwamun for 12 days. The location was excellent, being relatively uncrowded with tourists and conveniently within walking distance to two subway stations: Gwanghwamun and Jonggak.

However, our stay was somewhat marred by a few issues. The breakfast menu remained the same throughout our entire stay, which became repetitive. Additionally, the room cleaning was inconsistent, although the rooms were generally well-maintained. We also experienced issues with the room temperature, which didn't cool down sufficiently despite adjustments. Fortunately, my room was provided with an additional blower, which helped.

On the positive side, the fitness center was well-equipped with a good range of equipment.

Overall, while the location was a highlight, there were some areas for improvement in terms of breakfast variety and room maintenance.

The airport shuttle bus stop is conveniently located right downstairs from the hotel, making it super convenient to get to the airport. The stop name is as pictured. Even if there's a language barrier, it's not a problem; just show the hotel picture to the driver, and they'll let you know when to get off.

The front desk staff were also great. One of the staff members spoke very good Chinese and helped us make a reservation for the buffet dinner. Housekeeping was very attentive, regularly changing towels and emptying the bin.

Subway Line 2 is conveniently located close to the hotel, making it very easy to get to Hongdae and Myeongdong (Myeongdong requires a transfer), all within about half an hour. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with our stay here for this trip. I've also attached the airport shuttle bus timetable from the hotel.

The room amenities are great. The hotel gym is also excellent, located on the 26th floor. The hotel boasts a fantastic location, with the subway entrance right downstairs and taxis readily available. There's also a delicious Seolleongtang restaurant directly opposite the hotel that's definitely worth trying.

The location is pretty convenient. It is close to all the locations in gangnam. There is a small parking lot in the back, so it is pretty easy to arrange transport.

I had an incredible stay at Shilla Stay. The staff were super friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I didn’t have an adapter for Korea, and they kindly lent me one to use, which I really appreciated. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. The hotel is in a great location, not too far from Myeong-dong, right next to a subway station, and surrounded by convenience stores and food spots. I had dinner at the hotel lounge and bar, and the food was pretty good too. Everyone I interacted with, from check-in to check-out, was so nice. The view from my room was beautiful, especially at night. I’d definitely recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again!

Overall, I was extremely satisfied. The room was clean and tidy, and the service was excellent. The location is a huge plus, as Samseong Subway Station is right outside, making getting around incredibly convenient. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Seoul!

This hotel has a very committed staff that helps with whatever you need. However, some issues were less accommodating.. 

I was a bit disappointed that they couldn’t refund the breakfast purchased through trip.com after learning my sister could not enjoy it due to an unexpected liquid diet due to surgery. 
Also,
Initially , I reserved a room with a bathtub, but they said they had no availability upon checking in and gave us a different room than what I had reserved. 

That was kind of disappointing since the room with the bathtub was slightly bigger. 

It was a bit hectic to move the room 2 days into our 10-day stay. It felt like the value of our stay was cheated in that case.

The location of the property is good, and room is functional enough though a bit small. 

Bearing the Shilla brand I would expect the property to provide more/better amenties and better maintained. The property condition is not great. Breakfast is so so and I should have booked the room without breakfast as there are plenty of eatery around.

Overall I wouldn‘t stay here again. Doesn’t worth the price and definitely nothing closes to a “real” Shilla.

The hotel room was amazing. Clean and super spacious. The bed was very comfortable and everything was great. It has a plus point that there’s a convenience store on the first floor.

However, I was surprised that we have to pay 30,000 krw per person for the usage of swimming pool and when we requested for some items to the reception we had to walk down to the reception.

However, the room itself, I was very happy with the stay.

The service was great. The lobby was clean, well-maintained, and quite spacious. We booked a family twin room with two beds, one large and one small, which was perfect for three people. Disposable toothbrushes, toothpaste, and cups were provided, making it feel very hygienic. The room also had a refrigerator and a safe. The hotel is conveniently located diagonally opposite Baojian Road and is very close to the duty-free store. The only slight drawback was that the soundproofing in the street-facing rooms was just average.

This hotel is newly opened and absolutely beautiful. The temperature was a pleasant 25 degrees Celsius these past few days. The hotel pool features a hot spring, which was incredibly relaxing. The hotel's 'Waveless' tea restaurant boasts stunning golden decor. We checked into a sea-view room, and the view from the window was breathtaking. This morning, we even witnessed some Ama divers (sea women) at work.
