Shimoda Tokyu Hotel

The hotel view is absolutely stunning! It's just a pity we only stayed for one night and were in too much of a rush to try out the swimming pool. The staff were extremely professional and friendly. There was a bit of a queue at check-in when I arrived, but a staff member noticed I was waiting alone and came over to make small talk. The check-in process was super smooth. I’ll definitely stay here again next time I visit Shimoda!

The room offered a wide-open view, and the scenery was excellent. Breakfast was abundant and delicious. Plus, there was a convenient bus transfer service from the station to the hotel, which was a nice touch. However, it's not a natural hot spring, and the hotel's entertainment facilities were practically non-existent. Other hot spring hotels usually have things like massage services and manga corners for guests to enjoy.

A very well-established, classic hotel. You can really tell they pay attention to the little service details. I booked a balcony room, and since it didn't face the sea, the staff were thoughtful enough to switch me to a room with the best possible ocean view—truly went out of their way, and I really appreciate it. The staff were very warm and welcoming, doing their best to help with any request. Some didn't speak much English, but they still tried their hardest to communicate using translation apps or gestures. I slept very well throughout my stay, mainly because the room was quite comfortable. The only slight downside was that the weather wasn't as great as it would be in the summer. Looking forward to coming back during the summertime one year to experience it again!

The hotel is nestled in the mountains with stunning views. The hot spring facing the sea is incredibly relaxing; you can enjoy the ocean scenery while soaking. The hotel rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff are excellent.

The hotel is perched on a hill with breathtaking views. The rooms are clean, the breakfast spread is generous, and the service is spot-on. The pool is also stunning. To get to the beach below, you need to go down some steps and walk a short distance.

The views are nice, the rooms are spacious, and the breakfast is very rich. It's also very convenient to walk down to the beach from the hotel garden. However, I booked a high-floor balcony room but only got a third-floor room, and all the balcony rooms are side-facing, not directly facing the sea. If you want a sea view, you should book a sea-view room.
